"Politically Motivated" Mutilation - Real or Hoax?
Pittsburgh law enforcement sources tell TMZ they have serious questions about the authenticity of the alleged victim who says she had her face cut by a politically-motivated attacker.
We're told there are several things about the alleged attack that don't add up. A Pittsburgh PD official says they are conducting a "thorough investigation" and have not determined if the alleged attack is real or a hoax. But we're told there is definitely a level of skepticism.
As we reported, the alleged victim claims she went to an ATM and when she turned around, a large dark-skinned man took the money she withdrew. She says when he noticed she had a McCain/Palin bumper sticker on her car, he became enraged, knocked her down and cut a "B" in her face.
We're told the woman refused medical assistance at the scene and said she would go to the hospital the next day.
The investigation continues.
Hate the thought of this being a hoax! but.....
having grown up in a rough City, when someone is slicing you with a knife, it doesn’t turn out looking like a red raspberry in a photo! She clearly didn’t want to cause herself any pain creating this red rash of a B!
Another thing...if he knocked her down with a right (black eye)...then is standing at her head facing her and kneels down, and knife in right hand....the “B” is on the correct side and is not backwards...it was scratched in “upside down” (from her perspective)...
I’m curious about this claim of it being caught on tape also.

If its a hoax, its pretty dumb to say it happened at an ATM knowing it is under video surveillance.
I agree that the “B” doesn’t look like it was cut with a knife.
But if you were afraid for your life, and it was dark, a key might look like a knife, and a key could certainly make the marks on this young woman’s face.
I wondered about that, myself.

Yes, everyone thinks they’re tough until it happens. I’ve tried to explain this to my granddaughters who are so sure they could fight off anyone.
he could have been kneeling over her from above her head which would make the B written correctly from his vantage point.
If it isn't a hoax, I wish her a speedy recovery and that the perp be brought to justice. However, there is too much here that just doesn't seem right. It could hurt us all down the stretch if she is lying.
YET, the media never doubted a report that someone yelled “kill him” at a Palin rally. Even though no one else heard it and the Secret Service investigated.
If the attacker carved the ‘B’ while he was standing and she was standing, then it’s backward.
If she was on her knees and the attacker was behind her, then it would right side up to the attacker and upside down to an onlooker.
The bottom line is this... Who would carve a ‘B’ in their own face?
This poor girl is just the next ‘Joe the Plumber’.
Attack, attack, attack. The mainstream media will here no evil, see no evil and do plenty of evil to ensure that Barry O gets elected.
You don’t have to believe anything. I don’t know if I even believe it. But you don’t have to ask really idiotic questions like “Who lets themselves be held down and have a letter scribed into their face?” either.
There are many more appropriate ways to question the story than asking such a silly question. Believe me, overpowered and scared people have ‘let themselves be held down’ for even worse things than that.
Just a question: Is a backwards B any kind of a gang-related symbol? I know the Crips sometimes use a backwards B with a slash through it to diss the Bloods, but I don’t see how that would apply here.

I apologize for being skeptical because we have no way of knowing, however if the attacker’s comments are verbatim I found them a bit too polite: Oh, you are a McCain supporter, I am goint to teach you a lesson. As opposed to “F ing McCain B——, come here B-—— F you”
Hmm, I’m thinking the “B” is for “bluff.”
Yep, that’s a good explanation, and it could have been done by a key, which would abrade the skin, but not necessarily cut in too far.

It looks like a hickey to me.
When socked on the orbital rim - there doesn’t need to be any ruptured vessels inside the eye itself. One can be hit on the eyebrow and get bruising under the eye. Looks like she has some smudged mascara but then there’s no mascara on the other side. Not sure. Both lower lids look a little puffy - more on the left, IMO. It takes significant force to get noticable facial swelling. In fact, doctors have to take patient’s word for it when they say there is swelling because swelling can appear like normal facial contour to someone who is a stranger.
