If it isn't a hoax, I wish her a speedy recovery and that the perp be brought to justice. However, there is too much here that just doesn't seem right. It could hurt us all down the stretch if she is lying.

Agreed.
The McCain/Palin campaign shouldn’t touch this with a ten-foot pole (make that a FIFTY-foot pole). Granted, both McCain and Palin already spoke to her by phone. But for their own sake, they better SHUT UP and let the investigation run its course.
But I’ve been thinking about something else.
And this is a “Fishrrman you read it here on FreeRepublic first”.
Could she be some kind of “double-agent” from THEIR side, winnowing her way into the McCain campaign as the ultimate dirty trick to win for Obama?
In almost EVERY “racist hoax” perpetrated, the “victim” is eventually revealed to be from the LEFT side of things, trying to make our side look foul.
If this gal is indeed a committed Republican, she should embrace at least some conservative principles. Behavior like this ain’t one of them.
Something about this doesn’t pass the smell test. But whose skunk is doin’ the stinkin’?
