The country desperately needs a new and well-defined road map for the 21st century and leadership that can unite the country behind it.
We believe that Barack Obama can give us both.

That's like saying that because the Washington DC, the Nation's Capitol, is 80 percent liberal, the rest of the country follows suit...
SLC itself represents Utah values in a similar manner. And the SL Trib is a rabid liberal rag, selling itself as a direct opposition to both Conservatism and the LDS values in the state.
Yeah, let’s choose someone who hasn’t ever lead anyone and say that this guy can lead us into the century we’re already in. More accurately, the Tribune should have said, Elect Obama so we can re-live the 1930’s all over again.
How do you have a paper that is so out of touch with the people in it’s coverage area?
The local Salt Lake City market is quite democratic/liberal. Many anti-Mormon articles are published in the Tribune. Their editorial page is frequently very anti-conservative. The Deseret News is the alternative newspaper in the market. It tends to be much more conservative. It has a much larger readership in the rest of the state. The Deseret Morning News is actually owned by the Mormon church’s holding company which makes for some interesting politics.
Tribune = Rocky Anderson, Nancy Pelosi
Deseret News = anyone with an I Q greater than the surrounding temperature...
last night my husband put our other McPalin sign up....
then he went out in CAMOUFLAGE with a GUN and flashlight....!!!!! I don't know if he intended to do anything but he wanted to be prepared.....and he is the mild one compared to me....
this is serious folks...
we are on the edge....
civil war, civil disobedience...its coming...
Do they REALLY want the country screwed up SO bad by the BLACK Savior, that the WHITE Savior will again show up in 2012 and usher in the True Millienium??
AND??
They are different?
Mine got swiped last night too.
I really worry, try to put all this in the Lords hands. And pray he will not allow our nation to be given over to the likes of that one.
I have seen a lot of positive news the last couple days, signs that campaign is in panic too. But on the other hand I have seen perfectly rational people, even family members, who have drunk the kool-aid. You cannot even discuss politics with them because the go into attack mode. Unfortunately, as we try to avoid that, they bring it up. I've never seen this much divisiveness.
I hope you're supporting Palin. Romney isn't running anymore, save your strength.
We'll need as much as possible if Obama gets in...
I have a lot of leftist kook sheeple friends that live in SLC and it’s almost like they’re in a trance for Hussein. They’re at the point where there’s no convincing them otherwise. Kind of sad, but I kind of saw it coming also.
Only 25% of the men that served in Vietnam were draftees.
The boomers produced 9.4 million veterans, only a relativly small number were draftees.
“No 20th century war could have been waged, much less won, without draftees. During WWI, 72% of servicemen were drafted—50% of the men in France’s trenches were conscripted.
In WWII, 66% of all U.S. forces were drafted. Of the 10.5 million Army personnel, a whopping 93% were draftees. A poll taken in 1941 showed that just more than half of Americans would be willingly drafted for overseas service.
From 1946 to 1973, 5,077,185 men were drafted. During the Korean War era, 30% of total troops were drafted. In December 1950, 82% of the Army in Korea was made up of regulars. Exactly two years later, the ratio was 37% regular to 63% draftee in the war zone.
During the Vietnam era, 1,728,344 men were drafted. Of the forces who actually served in Vietnam, 648,500 (25%) were draftees. Draftees (17,725) accounted for 30.4% of combat deaths in Vietnam.”
Thanks for the stats Ansel12. Those were interesting.
They gave me a new perspective on the men who served and died in these campaigns. That 25% figure for draftees who served in Vietnam sure flies in the face of the misinformation you generally hear.
That 30% figure of draftees to non-draftee deaths was a surprise to me as well. 70% of the men who died in Vietnam had volunteered to go. That is amazing.
Have you seen Lord of the Rings?
Here is a link to those figures I gave you, some other draft facts are that in 1970 we drafted only 20,000 more men than we did in 1958, and the 1970 figure was 20,000 fewer than we drafted in 1946, the last draftee was inducted on June 30, 1973.
Some of the draftees are still in the army.

Every day, one by one, all the liberal newspapers will start coming out with their endorsements of Obama. The same thing happened to Kerry and Gore.
I hope it made them very happy for those two weeks each.
Thank you Ansell.
The majority of those that served with me in the field in VN were Regular Army (Volunteers)...
Also there were almost 1.4 million draftees from the 10 years prior to the first boomer draftee in 1964, 200,000 of them were the total of the 1962 and 1963 years.
