If Obama Wins, Damage Likely to Be Permanent
Right Wing News ^ | October 17, 2008 | Van Helsing

So what if Obama is elected? After four years, Americans will realize they've been sold a bill of goods by the left-wing media, and vote him back out again. Then we can live happily ever after. Right?

Wrong. Four years is more than enough time to inflict permanent damage on this country, given the large majorities the moonbat messiah is likely to have in both houses of Congress. The Wall Street Journal warns that if Dems get BHO in the White House and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, we will enter "a period of unchecked left-wing ascendancy."

Among the consequences:

Socialized medicine. This gargantuan entitlement would be extremely difficult to repeal, and would inevitably lead to low-quality, rationed healthcare in the short term, national bankruptcy in the long term.

Hostile business climate. Nancy Pelosi says the government has "harsh decisions" to make regarding assigning blame and doling out punishment for the financial panic. The ball and chain Sarbanes-Oxley put on American business will feel like a sweatband compared to the shackles coming next. The first victims will be the financial, energy, telecom, biotech, and pharmaceutical industries. Needless to say, this will not shorten the economic downturn. Fortunately for Democrats, the worse the economy, the more cover they have to inflict socialism, making it worst still. This vicious spiral will not stop until communist America finds itself rooting through Dumpsters for food.

Union supremacy. Unions are a cancer that have all but killed the American auto industry. Dems want to do away with secret ballot elections so that intimidation tactics can be used to make them vastly more powerful. The Orwellian "Employee Free Choice Act" — supported by Obama — entails forcing businesses to recognize a union even where the majority of workers don't want to unionize.

Taxes. Obviously an economic slowdown is not a good time to raise taxes. Yet Obama has made it clear he will jack taxes through the ceiling. Supposedly this will only affect "the rich." Anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of economics knows that it will hurt us all by crippling the economy.

Ecolunacy. Cap and trade schemes based on the fictional global warming crisis would make a recession permanent by inflicting punitive taxation on all economically productive activity. I hope the polar bears appreciate it.

Voting rights. Election-day voter registration is already leading to chaos in Ohio. This would likely go national, as anything that facilitates voter fraud helps Democrats, whose appeal is to moral degenerates who don't feel they should have to earn anything, including election victories. Felons may get the right to vote nationwide — another big boon to Democrats, for obvious reasons.

Freedom of speech. Some new form of the "Fairness Doctrine" would be employed to shut up Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and anyone else who might use the airwaves to rally resistance against socialism. Next the Left would target the Internet, under the guise of "net neutrality." But don't worry, Keith Olbermann will still to be around to keep you informed.

Special interests. It will be Christmas every day for teachers unions and trial lawyers. There are limits to how much damage termites can do to a structure before it is no longer sound.

Terrorism. Look for O.J. Simpson–style civil courts for every last foreign terrorist who comes into custody. Hamas has its reasons for endorsing Obama.

As the WSJ concludes:

In both 1933 and 1965, liberal majorities imposed vast expansions of government that have never been repealed, and the current financial panic may give today's left another pretext to return to those heydays of welfare-state liberalism. Americans voting for "change" should know they may get far more than they ever imagined. If the media gets its way next month, moonbattery may corrode America past the point of no return.

America will come to her senses. And after we hold The White House, we’ll plan the next Reagan Revolution.

So very many of us are ready. :)

Although I disagree with President Bush on many issues, and John McCain on a few, I THANK GOD that President Bush made the appointments to the SCOTUS that he did.

We dodged a bullet for a little while, there. :)

That is about how it goes in the plow business...I have only had one custumer not pay. A lawyer. Broke me leg salting his lot, but the problems involved with suing a lawyer...

That was the day he didn’t pay me for.

BTW, he is no longer on our plow list. I hope the a-hole gets his tail sued off, when the snow comes this winter.

Don’t forget the Supreme Court, Justices Stevens and Ginsberg are no spring chickens as are most of the others. Just remember, we won the Heller (DC Gun ban case) by ONE vote, what if BO appoints 3 or 4 Justices, we will be so boned. (as they say on “Futurerama.”)

Too many people assume that once stalinists take power we will continue to have meaningful elections. Stalinists don’t do elections. If they do,they are fixed.

Yes, once we get 20 million “new citizens” from south of the border, no Republican will ever be elected President ever again.

He’ll have two years until the mid term elections. We’ll see.

He "will" have two years? We "will" see. 19 days to go until the election and you've given it to Obama?

Anyway, as the article points out it may be too late even by the mid term elections, IF Obama is elected.

Read the article....

From Jimmy Carter came Reagan

Please, lets not get so hysterical!

(And I think McCain’s going to pull it off - thanks to Palin & Joe the Plummer)

If BHO wins, look for all out civil war when he tries to take away the rights of the common people. I know I’ll be among the protesters, federal employee or not.

From Jimmy Carter came Reagan

But there is a world of difference between Carter, especially the Carter of the 1970s, and The One. There's also a big difference in the Democratic Party. No more Sam Nunn's, or Herbert Humphreys. Just hacks like Biden, and outright Marxists like Obama, and more of the latter all the time.

Carter (I lived through his presidency) was just a complete soft-lefty loser. Obama is a whole different kettle of fish. He’s a fascist dictator in the making, and if he gets in, our country will never be the same.

I was a teenager during the Carter presidency. I remember the Nightly News always making one excuse after another for him. He was incompetent then and incontinent now. God help us.

Mine is a combination of different solutions:

1. From a purely self-interested and liberty-loving standpoint, I’d suggest splitting all those huge western states into smaller states or better yet, let states keep their cultural and state government traditions but for federal elections construct “administrative districts” that serve the same purpose for states for purposes of representation.

Imagine ND, SD, Montana, Washington (freed from the tyranny of WW) much of California, etc all having two senate votes, multiplied by two or three. If a tiny, no-account state like Rhode Island can have two Senators, surely a large state like California can be truly representative and have 10-16 but NOT elected by the entire state only by the administrative district.

The other thing would be that the Constitution is the only law for states to follow but that ‘home rule’ would be in effect. Therefore, no state or federal health insurance but if Chicago ITSELF wanted it, it could do so. This would more easily allow people to vote with their feet and even fence in the liberal archipelago of tyranny and crime.

By combining these two, I’d think you might find the liberal ‘tribe’ quite content to ruin their own little plots (which they already do) but unable to ruin the entire state (as WW does with the rest of WA state.) YOu’d also have land matter more in national elections. Just because a lot of people opt to live in a five square mile radius, does that mean they should make policy for the other half of the state’s population that doesn’t?

This would prevent the need for secession or the like (as leftists would only infiltrate our areas and then try to expand and subvert as they always do) and allow leftists the right to still vote and carry on as they believe they should but without the ability to substantively destroy the meaning and practice of the Constitution or founding principles EXCEPT inside the confines of their little areas.

Expect early “retirement” of a couple of conservative justices. Otherwise, he’s just replacing liberals with other liberals.

The author is making a bad assumption here, namely that Obama would be tossed out in the next election. (Same argument that was made about the "certainty" of Clinton being a one-termer).

Wrong! No matter how revoltingly bad an Obama presidency would be, the author overlooks the fact that sometime before the next midterm election, there will be 20 to 30 million "instant new voters" created on a single day (only some of whom are already in the country at the moment). They will be given a blanket amnesty, citizenship, voter cards, instructions in their native language on how to fill out a ballot with all the Democrat names selected, and a dire warning message that if they do NOT vote Democrat the rest of their lives, their citizenship might be taken away by rabid Republicans.

In around 2024 to 2028, there will be a slight, slight chance of a Republican President, but only if Bobby Jindal learns fluent Spanish, and swears on a Bible to keep all the Democrat-implemented womb-to-tomb social programs and 80% taxes on "the wealthy" (who by then will be anyone making over $20,000 a year).
