SARAH PALIN WINS VP DEBATE (BY GOING NUCLEAR ON OBAMA/FANNIE-FREDDIE CORRUPTION & ILLEGALS)
AmericanInTokyo | 2 October 2008 | AmericanInTokyo

Posted on 10/01/2008 6:42:57 PM PDT by AmericanInTokyo

Gov. Sarah Palin has a complete open shot here to clean both Biden's and Obama's clocks Thursday night!

As a conservative, she is well advised to take it.

If we don't oppose this Socialist Democratic corruption on the bailout and CRA/ACORN/FREDDIE/FANNIE, and expose them, and also make a clear distinction between Democrats and Republicans on borders and illegal immigration, we can kiss this election GOOD BYE.

These are TWO MAJOR WIN ISSUES FOR THE GOOD GUYS.

Moment of truth, folks.

Will we get a pit bull? Or an aging basset hound?

Very tempted to head for Barr/Baldwin territory if this nonsense continues and nobody stands up to and gets in the face of RAPIDLY APPROACHING SOCIALISM.

If I hear McCain say "bipartisanship" or "reach across the isle" one more time I'm gonna heave! :-( I suppose we all MUST vote for him to keep Obama the Commie out of office but it's gonna be tough.

Sorry to disappoint you.

Tonight, sadly John McCain voted for the bailout.

This will not be an issue in the debate tomorrow night.

Of course.

I am just throwing it out there for general discussion. As it needs to be discussed. No one person nor ticket nor Party is sacrosanct over and above our very country and economic system of free enterprise and capitalism itself.

I realize that.

Just raising the issue and creating traction, maybe it will coalesce in a small way by putting pressure on the HOUSE to torpedo it. That is our only hope it seems. The Senate just served up a steaming crap sandwich for the House to eat. Isn't that grand. I guess this will be the 800 pound elephant in the room tomorrow night during the debate.

Lol. You think there is a difference between the R's and D's?

The Second paragraph is the attention getter.

Flashback. 2004 Republican Party Platform: A Safer World and a More Hopeful America

Homeownership

Homeownership is central to the American dream, and Republicans want to make it a reality for everyone. That starts with access to capital for entrepreneurs and access to credit for consumers. Both have improved immensely in the past four years, resulting in record levels of homeownership. For the first time, more than half of all minorities own their home.

We support the President’s goal of increasing the number of minority homeowners by at least 5.5 million families by the end of the decade. Since President Bush announced his initiative in 2002, an additional 1.6 million minorities have become homeowners. The Self-Help Homeownership Opportunities Program helps low-income families purchase a home. The most significant barrier to homeownership is the down payment. We support efforts to reduce that barrier, like the American Dream Downpayment Act and Zero Downpayment Mortgages. The President and Congress have taken action to provide counseling and education to help first-time homebuyers navigate the process of buying a home. The Administration has also taken steps to alert people to the dangers of predatory lending, in an effort to help Americans maintain a positive credit history.

Affordable housing is in the national interest. That is why the mortgage interest deduction for primary residences was put into the federal tax code and why tax reform of any kind should continue to encourage homeownership. We support efforts to enact the Single-Family Affordable Housing Tax Credit. At the same time, a balanced national housing policy must recognize that decent housing includes apartments, and addresses the needs of all citizens, including renters.

In many areas, housing prices are higher than they need to be because of regulations that drive up building costs. Some regulation is of course necessary, and so is sensible zoning. We urge states and localities to work with local builders and lenders to eliminate unnecessary burdens that price many families out of the market. We see no role for any federal regulation of homebuilding. We do foresee a larger role for state and local governments in controlling the federally assisted housing that has been so poorly managed from Washington. We also encourage the modification of restrictions that inhibit the rehabilitation of existing distressed properties.

Well let me jump in on yet another stupid vanity thread. Do not get your hopes up - there is NOTHING Palin can do tomorrow to make enough difference. The stories of her poor performance are already written by the MSM which is still the “official record” to the majority of the population. We have a very weak candidate in McCain who just doesn't have the fight in him.

Agreed! If they do not come out of the gate swinging and relentless, kiss the presidency goodbye. They have to realize there is still alot af angry people out there that are not happy and know who is to blame. If you continue walking thru the garden singing praises of bipartisanship you will loose! Lay the blame squarley where it should be, on the democrates in congress! Just lookiing at Reid and Dodd assuring Americans that they have are best interest gets me sick to my stomach. Tomorrows debate is the Mccain campaigns turning point.

Will we get a pit bull? Or an aging basset hound?

Now that would be downright funny if Fred Thompson were the running mate!

What gets me, too, is nobody is willing to stand up and point out the serious case against "global warming," that it's a blatant power-grab hoax. But then again, we're still dealing with people who think the world is only about 4,000 years old. *sigh*

God please send us a well-spoken Republican who calmly puts to rest the scientifically-ignorant pseudo-government of legalized environmentalism, which has been made to trump all other righteousnesses. Americans face more strife because of it, they are forced to use inferior products because of it, pay higher prices, and maybe even die of it.

And the instant an outside nations pooh-pooh's our finicky respect for nature and easily takes over because we haven't the ability to fuel our defense -- *poof*

Environmentalism is a godless foe.

I would like to hear Palin talk about education, terrorism and other important issues to families. I would like to hear her perspective as a woman and if it comes right down to it Id like her to nail these sexist jerks on the outrageous attacks on her.

Id like them to stop talking about Iraq so much except in the context of lets finish the mission there and suport our national defense to keep our country strong. People are sick to death of hearing it from the media et al.

Most of all Id like to hear her talk about cleaning up the sorry state in Washington. People have no faith in government. Id like to hear her say there will be a clean sweep, take out the trash so to speak..:)

wonderful, just wonderful /s

compassionate conservatism at it's greatest.

poor President Reagan, he must be frowning down upon us.

For the life of me, when I often hear McCain talk, I try to imagine it coming out in Reagan's voice.

I just can not hear it.

PEOPLE ARE PISSED OFF, 9 to 1.

All across the country.

If they dont go with this flow, they are just leaving the Presidency on the table.

I guess if you reach across the aisle, you cannot kick ass when you can and should. How stupid. How tactically foolish. STUPID PARTY.

McCain voted yes. A bill loaded with earmarks. The same guy who says he'll veto every bill with earmarks and make those with earmarks famous. McCain showed a lack of principle with a yes vote.

It doesn’t matter what Palin does. The election is over. Obama has won. I, myself, will not vote for McCain after his vote today. I suspect many other conservatives won’t either.

I know what it means an Obama Presidency, but oh well. My faith in America is non existant. This country is heading for a crash and nothing can stop it. I say let i happen on Obama’s watch.

So long America. Thank you for 37 years of freedom. Too bad your citizens and leadrs lost their way and ruined you.
