WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.
According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.
"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.
Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

Amir Taheri should be interviewed live during PRIME TIME tonight to discuss this charge--because if it is researched and, in fact, true,,,,
then Hussein needs to withdraw as a candidate for his hypocrisy and treasonous actions.
If true, this is about as RUTHLESS as you can possibly get as a candidate.

Not to worry...I'm sure O'Reilly will do another Frat boy interview with him and grill him hard about this, then tell us, "Obama is strong, I was impressed."
sarc/ Then if that is not enough, he'll have the ever EXPERT, NON-PARTISAN Tonya Reiman on to fully erase any lingering doubts we might harbor over The One. [Continuing with the sarc/]

What was Obama thinking? Did he thin the Iraqis would keep this mum? Did he think the military would keep this mum?
He must have. He automatically assumed they were on his side.

How do you know?
I’m just frustrated because not even Rush is talking about this.
Fox is completely ignoring it.

Isn’t this akin to the tinfoil-level Democrat Congress’s accusation Reagan sent Bush 41 off on an SR-71 to negotiate with the Iranians to hold the hostages until after Carter’s defeat? Anyone remember that ridiculous allegation?

I know there were accusations that Reagan tried to influence the election by getting the Iranians to hold on... The accusation was made in Gary Sick's 1985 book "All Fall Down." Sick was a Carter NSA staffer.
The claims appeared again in 1989 in a book "October Surprise" by Barbara Honegger, a person who briefly worked in the Reagan White House and apparently acquired a reputation for being a bunny-suited nut.
Not much came of the myth until the NY Times picked it up on April 15, 1991, and coincidentally the same day PBS did a show on it... followed coincidentally on April 17 by a Times op-ed by Leslie Gelb. The Dems in congress then called for an investigation, and Gary Sick chimed in again.

Haven't you heard...tonight Bill O. is staring a new series on Wonder Boy starting with his childhood. Fuuny, I don't remember week-long interviews with McCain.

Does every one get the image in your mind of ( either the 2nd or 3rd ) movie of LORD of the Rings were there was the big battle between the forces of good vs evil ... and at one point it looked like the good side was going to lose.... but,, in a instant.... wham !!! the battle turned on a dime.
Sarah reminds me of the one tree/people who broke down the dam and the flood of water came over all the bad guys.

Yup. I think that was the first time I took notice of the “October surprise” phrase,
