Obama to Palin: 'Don't Mock the Constitution'
By Peter Slevin
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Sen. Barack Obama delivered an impassioned defense of the Constitution and the rights of terrorism suspects tonight, striking back at one of the biggest applause lines in Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's speech to the GOP convention.
It was in St. Paul last week that Palin drew raucous cheers when she delivered this put-down of Obama: "Al-Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America and he's worried that someone won't read them their rights."
Obama had a few problems with that.

Shes gotten under his skin, big time.
This reads like satire. I cannot believe he's going there. Barack the bomb-thrower, disciple of Ayers the bomb-thrower. Surreal. And suicidal.
A lot of us might very well make that mistake.
It's awfully nice of him to help us see how easy it would be to make that mistake. Extremely easy, as it happens
Biden was in Des Moines today for 1200 people. Couldn’t the unions get more teachers and state employees off to attend?
and don't you love how he dismisses Palin, etc, as “these people” - he's a condescending jackass (but what can you expect from ‘those people’ who voluntarily chose a jackass as their symbol?)
“Thats two rallies in MICHIGAN of all places, and Obama pulls in less than 2000 people.”
betcha most of this crowd were in fact palestinian terrorist sympathizers
"These people."
Well, folks this is your Obama/Messiah Saviour...enjoy!

GOOD! - Tomorrow we’ll do Nancy Pelosi!
I thought some blogger proved 0bama has never taught a law class, but rather he was an orator who got faculty status.
I wouldn't be too sure of that -- we don't know if he was admitted because of diversity or he got in with his test scores. We don't know what courses he took or what grades he made. We do know as head of the Harvard Law Review, he wrote ONE article when most use that to write a lot of articles.
The guy is a walking contradiction. On the one hand he says, "Take them out" which, by his standard, would be violating the terrorists habeus corpus "rights" and then on the other hand, if you don't kill them but catch them, they are to be considered innocent until proven guilty. That is if we kill them they were guilty but if captured they are innocent until proven guilty. Of course Obama ignores the legal reality that illegal combatants that wear no uniform and belong to no national government are not to be given the same rights under the Geneva Convention that identified members of a military force of a recognized nation are to be afforded.
This guy is flailing around without any use of logic. Osama Bin Laden would be an important catch but in the end, other than bragging rights if caught, is nothing more than a symbol. This liberal canard that Osama is essentially the puppetmaster of all things Al Qaeda is so obviously flawed logic that even many libs are coming to realize it.
But that suspension pertains to American citizens, not enemy combatants. To pertain to them, the enemy combatants would have to be entitled to habeas corpus in the first place which, of course, they’re not.
Another gaffe.
He meant to say “don’t rock the jukebox”
Well, that's not surprising, since it remains unclear whether Obama is actually an American citizen. So naturally he wants full constitutional rights for Kenyans and Indonesians here in America, including the right to run for President without allowing anyone to see your birth certificate.
Obama is also trying to stifle free speech by trying to get the justice department to go after The American Issue Project for running a Ayers add.
I’m having trouble finding where in the Constitution it provides rights for foreign terrorists.
Lol; No! don’t throw me in that briar patch!
LOL
Nope. The Washington Post misquotes Governor Palin. That wasn't a statement, it was a question. It read: "It was in St. Paul last week that Palin drew raucous cheers when she delivered this put-down of Obama: "Al-Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America and he's worried that someone won't read them their rights?"
