I would remind you of Jesus' words, "He who is without sin let him cast the first stone."

Just a quibble. There are only three passages contained in the new testament that all scholars of all persuasions are quite certain were not in the original documents. The prostitute being stoned and the above statement are one of those passages. It was added by a Catholic monk hundreds of years after the new testament was written. If you check the footnotes to your bible near that passage, you will probabably find a notation to that effect.

Once one becomes a Republican, a real Republican that is, you and everyone in your family will be immune to sin. It's like dunking witches; if anyone in the family sins you know they're not real Republicans. /s

And if you’re ill-brought-up enough to see that abstinence is a superior avoidance tool than abortion, that issue needs to be taken up with your parents.

It all depends if your primary issue is life of the baby or shaming girls into not having premarital sex.

If its the former, then the shaming they are going to get is going to diminish the likelihood they will keep the baby.

If its the latter then you will reduce the number of babies generated via abstinence, but also drive some babies that might have been kept into the death chamber.

This is real as opposed to abstract dogma.

While I oppose teenage pre-marital sex, babies lives are more important and thus the shaming tool is not useful.

Problem is that you are going off dogma and thus have avoided the issue of which one is more important to you. So you can have your cake and eat it too and feel pretty pure.

Just got home from grocery shopping and saw this! I did see pictures of her with the ring on wedding finger and how plump she was on DK last night but haven’t read posts yet.

This is sad, but it happens to thousands of conservative families and they deal with it, either by adopting out or keeping the baby and the Palin’s will certainly keep the baby.

That’s what good people do!

I wonder how many of the voters who will hold her daughter’s pregnancy against Sara Palin have never engaged in sex outside of marriage and/or have condemned any family members/friends whose daughters have become pregnant?

These are probably the same people who worship Angelina Jolie and every other movie star who chooses to become a mother and is not married. Hollywood has glorified childbirth outside marriage and held these young women up as role models and goddesses, but of course this praise is only for their chosen few. They wait hysterically for the first photographs of these miracles as obscene payment for them is gleefully announced.

Now if Bristol were to announce she was going to murder her baby, her praises would be breathlessly sung by those who are now condemning her.

By the Grace of God, Bristol has wonderful parents as role models and doesn’t have to worry about such trash!

Agreed - Teen pregnancy not OK. Parents need to instill this as well as possible. Most conservative parents, like me, do their level best to do so.

Now - that being done - daughter/ son becomes pregnant. How are you going to react?
