Palin Pick Causes 'Elation' among Evangelical Leaders
cbn ^

Posted on 08/29/2008 9:23:20 AM PDT by flyfree

Wow. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is John McCain's pick for Vice-President. Folks, this is s close to a game changer as you can get.

Let me give you some instant reaction. I can tell you that The Brody File has been talking to multiple sources in the conservative Evangelical community and the reaction has been EXTREMELY POSITIVE. As a matter of fact, I am told that when conservative leaders heard the news this morning at a meeting at the Council for National Policy, one attendee told me that there is "nothing but elation. People are giddy. They are energized and they now believe that in fact this campaign has the ability to win this election."

Then maybe you should put a trigger lock on your vote till you do understand. Study up, get the facts and don’t let flash and celebrity status decide for ya !

Vote on a persons record........not on their promises.

Sarah Palin has run a town and a state quiet well thus far. Obama bin Biden only run their mouth and a office filled with ass kissing staffers. Sarah has experience with judgements and power and authority due her office. Obama bin Biden vote only when told to and on what issues and how by their socialist handlers.......

My choice of Palin is an easy no brainer. Only good thing I have seen Mccain do thus far in this race. Hope it’s enough to keep Obama bin Biden unemployed !

Obama’s real history.......

Dr. Jack Wheeler Regarding Obama

Written by Dr. Jack Wheeler

The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.

He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest of him is20mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed
by his non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya . Only a small part of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he pretends he is exclusively.

What he isn’t, not a genetic drop of, is ‘African-American,’ the descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave ships. He hasn’t a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it.

Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he is the descendant of slave owners. Thus he makes the perfect Liberal Messiah.

It’s something Hillary doesn’t understand - how some complete neophyte came out of the blue and stole the Dem nomination from her. Obamamania is beyond politics and reason. It is a true religious cult, whose adherents reject Christianity yet still believe in Original Sin, transferring it from the evil of being human to the evil of being white.

Thus Obama has become the white liberals’ Christ, offering absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can diminish it, no arguments Hillary could make of any kind can be effective20against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In Human Flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for liberals to worship him: Credo quia absurdum, I believe it because it is absurd.

Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony savior.

His candidacy is ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by any thinking American.

Stay safe Ya’ll !

All very true.

I believe the MSMs fear goes deeper than Obama loosing.

They see what I see, the potential for this pick to revitalize the Republican party, and give us a dynamic Conservative leader for more than a decade, enabling the Republicans to hold the white house and set the national agenda till 2020.

Along with all the SCOTUS picks in that time.

They are in full panic mode, and I'm loving it.

Agreed. And, you can usually tell by their “I’m a staunch conservative, BUT...”, or “I’m a Republican, BUT...” lead-ins, before they disparage the candidate, policy, etc... etc...

Like one poster I ran across yesterday - went to check out their page. Covered with “elephants”, and images, but they make the remark — What? Was it something I said? HA HA I LOVE FreeRepublic, don’t YOU???” I mean c’mon... A TRUE FReeper would NEVER say things like that! A TRUE Conservative would not say things like that, either. It’s like when Pelosi couched her pro-murder statements with “Now, I’m an ardent, practicing Catholic”. If she was really she would find no reason to use those two words — she would simply say “I am Catholic”.

I too offer my apologies to all who are here in the spirit of “bi-partisanship”, or “Country FIRST”, etc... etc... I could care less if someone has been a registered DEMOCRAT their WHOLE lives! As long as that person is respectful, asks questions in an effort to understand, debates in a respectful way, etc...

After all, I was a Libertarian when I first signed up here 8 years ago, and through peoples’ patience I learned, and matured even more to understand why some of the beliefs I held were not really in keeping with what was good for our country (like “open borders”). One thing I didn’t do was misrepresent myself and my beliefs. Honesty goes a LONG, LONG way.

Sorry for the mini-rant here — it just really frustrates me. These operatives that think we are all that naive and stupid ARE desperate. They may think they’re getting on “over” on us, but in reality they are only making fools of themselves. They may think since they’ve been able to “fool” us for weeks or months that we are stupid. However, they fail to see that - unlike DU - we encourage competition of ideas and Free Speech (until we are 99.9% sure that they are ONLY here to cause trouble). I feel sorry for them actually, they are the ones who’ve gotten the wool pulled over their eyes, and someday, somehow, it’ll come back to haunt them. As new agers love to say, “Karma is a bitch”.

Also Proverbs 31 states women can be working Mom’s and successful...

God likes it...

Pro 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

Pro 31:14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Pro 31:15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Pro 31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Pro 31:18 She perceiveth that her merchandise [is] good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Pro 31:19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Pro 31:22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing [is] silk and purple.

Pro 31:24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth [it]; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Pro 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Pro 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Verses from Proverbs 31

I’m actually amazed at the level of desperation they show - like you said, honest debate is one thing - bring it on. The Socratic mthodology for debate - intelligence, candor, and good will. Logic, rationale discourse, and reason have done more to change peoples’ hearts and minds the world over. I welcome it.

I do NOT welcome stealth, guile, and disguised motives in a debate, as they are the tactics of low-lifes and scoundrels. Shine a light on them, call them out for what they are, and boot their asses off the board.

But - hey, they consider themselves “revolutionaries” I guess. They want a bloodless revolution this time around, using the law, the legal system, and ultimately the coercive power of the State against us. They truly believe, in their demented way, that their time is ascendent...Yeat’s “Second Coming” comes to mind immediately...”...and what rough beast, it’s hour come round at last, slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?”

Ballots as opposed to bullets this time...they seem to believe that half the country will just roll over and take it.

It’s a dangerous game the other side is playing. This isn’t a third world country with an unarmed, dispirited, morally crushed peasent-class. Eventually, people push back.

>>Sarah Palin - pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-drilling, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, butt kicker. Hope some of it rubs off on McCain. And an Army Mom to boot! I may even be able to support this ticket.<<

I would feel better about Palin if I knew her positions on immigration issues.

Why?

CONGRESS makes the law - the EXECUIVE branch enforces it.

Oh... I get it: ENFORCE the law we have NOW!!!

Check the links below:

Attributed to Laura Ingraham re Palin on comprehensive immigration reform:

“….So, back to the Veepstakes. Sarah Palin: I like her. (Producer: “Babe”) Well, she is. She’s a beautiful woman, but she’s also a conservative. Her husband, I think is a shrimper? (pause) He’s a fisherman. I’m not kidding you, and they go out and fish on the weekends. He’s a commercial fisherman. I’m telling you, I think that sells. That sells a lot more than “my friends” and comprehensive immigration reform. And she’s not for comprehensive reform, I can tell you that right now. She’s sick to death of this immigration nonsense in the United States.”

If you want to hear it for yourself, you will need a “Laura365” subscription to access the online archives. Obviously, the date you need is 3/10/08, and the comments on Palin begin 1:33:43 into the brodcast.

Thanks Jim! My wife was telling me last night, that since the Palin pick, she has changed her mind about McCain from not voting for anyone for POTUS, —> to voting for McC/Palin. She urged me to do the same. (We had always planned to vote for conservatives down-ticket in Nov. Our house Rep is a good one — John Carter of Round Rock, Texas.)

I want to wait until the last minute to learn all I can before I decide.

Are you planning to vote for McCain now? Still thinking about it?

Liberman or Romeny would of been great choices IMHO

It's Lieberman/Romney. And neither would have been as good a choice as this. Lieberman especially. He's not a Republican, he's an Independent Democrat. The only thing he's conservative on is the WOT.

If you feel Lieberman would have been a better pick then this is the wrong forum for you. This is a conservative forum. We believe and live conservative ideals, both fiscally and socially. If that doesn't suit you, may I suggest you look into Daily KOS or Democrat Underground.
