Over the past few years, perhaps no film controversy has inspired more outrage from conservatives than the Walt Disney Companys handling of the ambitious 2006 miniseries The Path to 9/11. In the wake of Michael Moores 2004 anti-Bush documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 and the 2003 CBS biopic The Reagans, the Disney censorship fiasco has been a frequent bone of contention on right-wing blogs, AM talk radio and other media outlets. In addition to making cuts in its ABC-TV telefilm after complaints from political forces, the company also shelved plans for a subsequent DVD release.

Now the imbroglio has been revived for a direct-to-video documentary called "Blocking 'The Path to 9/11'," produced by right-wing rabble-rouser David Bossie and directed by former radio host John Ziegler. On its surface, the new video is a fascinating piece of behind-the-scenes investigative work. But, like the original telefilm and its quashing by the Clinton camp, it is not without its own political intrigue.

There is no big mystery to this, the fact is Disney is in the tank for the ‘Rats, leftists, liberals and homos, and that is why anything critical of the Clinton/Gore regime is deep-sixed and/or put on ice.
Simple as that.
Who “was” blocking it? Why the past tense here?
Interesting. The documentary was actually pretty good, although it did make a couple of members of Clinton’s team out to be a lot more heroic than they probably were. Well, maybe I shouldn’t say that: maybe they actually were good initially, but of course, in the later aftermath of 9/11, they turned into politically motivated victims of BDS.
However, I remember that Clinton very much objected to the film at the time, and changes were being made to it at his request virtually right up to the moment it was shown.
I'm not sure why Disney even produced it. Oh, right, they wanted profits. I guess in the end money does trump politics in corporate America, not that there's anything wrong with that.
Whe it aired on TV, I had to go out of town on business, so, I had the DVD recorder burn a copy to watch when I got home. I still have it.
I guess I'm part of the rabble. I'm glad Politico is around to inform me of this fact.
It would be nice if folks like you would have Path to 9-11 viewing shindigs. It can be legally shown, even to large audiences, as long as the event is educational, and not commercial, in nature. The Clintons really are lowlife dirtbags, are’nt they? It will be nice to finally see the fall of the House of Clinton.
