Cindy Sheehan Qualifies to Challenge Pelosi

SAN FRANCISCO — Cindy Sheehan, an icon of the anti-war movement, has qualified to challenge House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her seat in Congress.

Sheehan, 51, says Pelosi failed to persuade her party to end funding for the Iraq war after Democrats reclaimed the House majority in the 2006 midterm elections. She also accused the speaker of failing to hold the administration accountable for the administration’s warrantless wiretapping program.

Sheehan, who lost her son in the war, is best known for beginning a vigil outside President Bush’s Texas ranch in August 2005.

“I feel like Nancy Pelosi, as the Democratic leader, has failed our country miserably, funding for more war,” Sheehan said Monday. “The speaker’s failed to hold George Bush and Dick Cheney accountable.”

San Francisco election officials on Monday said Sheehan turned in 214 more valid signatures than the 10,198 she needed to qualify for the November ballot as an independent candidate for the 8th Congressional District seat.

The speaker welcomes the challenge, said Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill.

“The speaker has the highest respect for Cindy Sheehan. Ms. Sheehan lost her son in the Iraq war and has the right — as every American has — to run for office,” Hammill said in a statement.

You know, I wonder......

If the gods of political irony intervene, Pelosi could be in trouble.

There was no mental competency test?

Oh, wait, Nancy Pelosi is the current holder of the seat.

Apparently there is no mental competency test for Members of Congress.

“Sheehan isn’t “qualified” to challange someone for the post of Dog-Catcher. “

Frankly, there aren’t many politicians I would trust with the job of Dog-Catcher.

“Sheehan is more grounded in reality than her opponent. “

I say let her and Pelosi ground themselves really well, and stick a fork in a 110-outlet.

The survivor gets the office. And the shock treatment might improve their grasp on reality.

And that's why they call it a Party...

I’m putting a Sheehan bumper sticker on now - talk it up.
Make Pelosie spend money, time or wriggle, as it’s past time to give the Speaker some fun grief.

If we have to see Democrats controlling the House, let an incompetent moonbat (Sheehan) lead them. And once Pelosi is gone, we can start offshore drilling again.

'The same kind of things can also truly be equally said about the present politics for all of the northeastern states all the way south to Pennsylvania and Maryland, for the other two west coast states, for Illinois, for much of Colorado, as well as about the ongoing politics of most big U.S. cities. Leftist politics truly continues to dominate too much of the U.S. already, and it truly continues to get even worse every year throughout too much of the U.S.! The entire U.S. will truly be turned into a socialistic country for the long-term, if U.S. conservatives truly can’t successfully turn things around politically very soon!'

The blame for this mess can be placed squarely at the feet of our Elitist Media, who obviously live in an alternative universe, one in which collectivism is the standard, and everyone is on the same level. Almost everyone: Only they and the Powerbrokers (George Soros, The Environmentalist, Animal Rights and Abortion Rights Activists) with deep pockets rise above the rabble, controlling the cash flow. Individual freedom is an antiquated notion of the past, touted by Right Wing Talk Radio Neanderthals, Internet Bloggers, and the Fox News Channel.

Not only do we need to turn things around, we also need to pull the plug and turn out the lights on Big Media.

Conservatism is still seriously being discriminated against by the world MSM, and this has been going on for several decades with no end in sight. Conservatives truly still need an equivalent to the ACLU in order to truly toe the line with all leftists all over the entire world. Besides the ongoing political bias in the world MSM, worldwide political correctness, which also includes the ongoing “dumbing down” of people all over the world as well as the ongoing political indoctrination in too many schools at every level all over the world, truly continues to get even worse for everybody everyday all over the world. It really wasn’t that long ago that such individuals as Barack Obama and John McCain could never even be seriously considered as true Presidential material by the majority of the U.S. general public. The long-term future of the U.S. is truly going to be a “mess” for just about everybody on too many issues.

I’m my usual optimistic self regarding the fall elections, and I think A) Obama will get the nomination, B) will be a polarizing figure, and C) lead the Demwits to fall defeat. Sheehan’s main role will be to provide a reason for the Moonbats to show up to vote, splitting the Demwit turnout, and maybe putting a Pubbie in place of Pelosi. My guess is, though, that Pelosi will wind up winning, and her party will lose both houses. If she’s challenged for the leadership post (who would *want* the job?) for her caucus, she’d probably prevail.

Well, don't give up hope.

...Though John McCain isn't exactly anyone's idea of a true Conservative, he's really our best chance to beat back total destruction (as far as foreign policy goes). As one prominent Conservative Radio Talk Show Host noted, we can defeat him on the foolishness of Climate Change and pressure him to take the right stance on the borders...this we could not do with Barack Obama as POTUS. I personally believed Mitt Romney was far better suited, but of course the GOP Powers That Be thought otherwise...

And please don't forget about judges. I don't know about you, but I really don't want to see a bunch of out and out Communists sitting on the Supreme Court Bench. We're already pushing the envelope with the radicals we already have!

...Ah well, we can't cry over spilled milk, but we can all do our part to continue to fight the cultural and political battle. It has been done before: The list of casualties continues to mount, including Al Gore, John Edwards, and Hillary Clinton. We do need to keep pressure up on our lawmakers (despite the idiots, er I mean the voters of California's 51st District having firmly ensconced radical Liberal Democrat Bob Filner in that congressional seat)to do the will of the (real) people, just as we are doing with this oil debacle. And I do have to commend the GOP Representatives for what they are doing to force House Speaker Pelosi and the Do Nothing, Don't Drill Democrats to cut their vacations short and bring an up or down vote on this rather pressing issue.

...It's an uphill battle, but we need to stay strong and not give up the fight.

It’s actually the U.S. Senate who has to approve of the judicial picks of the POTUS. If the next U.S. Senate is truly full of more leftists D’s to add to the already leftist D’s and leftist R’s in the present U.S. Senate, then how are any conservative judge picks supposed to successfully be approved by the next “leftist U.S. Senate majority” when asked by a possible President McCain, should he even be the next POTUS? Also, and past history proves this to be the case, John McCain too often ignores what conservatives both really want and really need on too many issues, and he may be just saying that he would appoint conservative judges and willingly build a fence on the southern U.S. border just to get conservative votes on November 4, knowing that there’s nothing that conservatives can truly do should he break any to all of his promises to conservatives after John McCain is President! Barack Obama would truly be even worse on all of the issues, but John McCain may truly also not be any better on most issues! No matter who John McCain truly picks as his VP, true conservatism has already lost the Presidential race in ‘08, and I couldn’t be more upset with the Republican Party as they still continue to move leftwards instead of always staying put as a true conservative political party!
