ABC Radio news just announced Sen. John Edwards will admit to the affair with Rielle Hunter in an interview with the network, but insists the child is not his.

I do not like John Edwards, but there is no glee in this story beyond his being defeated as a political force, if he really was one.

It may well have been the determining factor to coverup the Edwards fiasco, so that Hillary would not be elected in the primaries. The media is in the tank for Osama and has been since the beginning.

...there is no reason for Edwars to take any kind of test.

There is also no reason to go on Nightline [which will be competing with the Olympics] and admit that he was having an affair. /sarcasm>

Now that the affair has become public knowledge, Edwards will have to prove his contention that the child is not his. The NE has offered to pay the costs of the test, but the NE editor seemed to indicate in his interview with Hannity that there is other proof they have that the child is his. Edwards can continue to deny, deny, deny, but he is finished politically. It will be interesting to see if he can pull a Jesse Jackson and continue on with his public policy role. Of course, Jesse admitted the child was his.

CNN keeps reminding it's faithful viewers that the affair ended in 2006. No explaination for the recent hotel visits with her... those are probably unrelated events and don't merit a mention.

So true, in the absence of Edwards I think that Hillary would have been invulnerable — or at least I’m pretty certain that Edwards cut into her votes more than into Obama, and in the early weeks in a 1-on-1 matchup I think Hillary would have walked away the victor. The MSM kept Edwards alive and that benefitted Obambi.
