ABC Radio news just announced Sen. John Edwards will admit to the affair with Rielle Hunter in an interview with the network, but insists the child is not his.

Hey, I think we have to give Ann Coulter a lot of ‘credit’ for this...... she demeaned and insulted Edwards’ (heterosexual) masculinity and he responded by having a reckless affair..... had to prove his heterosexual masculinity..... thanks Ann, in the annals of helping to provoke self-destructive behavior this ranks near the top...... now the Edwards camp can blame everything on Ann Coulter. :^)
I remember like yesterday, when Mark Foley was revealed to have spoken on line to some interns over 18 years of age, he immediately remarked, “This will kill my folks (parents).” The media was relentless for 3 weeks. Four weeks, or thereabouts, after this was reported, sure enough Foley’s father died. Stress? I don’t know, but the media did not give a damn about Foleys family. Now, the Edwards family is being used as a shield to minimize the the propriety of speaking of this subject. Duplicitous, hypocritical bastards. How about investigating and telling the truth and let the people decide.
All I am saying is that I would bet that John McCain would just as soon have this fade quickly for a variety of reasons. not only does he not have a perfect marital history (like millions of other people), he has been putting O on the defensive and this changes the theme.
Look, I do not like John Edwards, but there is no glee in this story beyond his being defeated as a political force, if he really was one.
I’d almost trust the Enquirer over some other news sources just because they have gotten hit with so many lawsuits, they are very careful. And they were pretty specific with this one.
And every time he was leaving the house to meet the slut, he’d tell his dying wife that he had an pedicure appointment.
I wonder if the media had done it job and reported this in a timely manner that people who voted for Edwards might have gone to Hillary and turned the entire election process in a different direction.
I quite agree that McCain does not want or need this story belabored for long..... still, given the hypocritical scumbag that is John Edwards, I cannot help wanting the story to hang around for awhile. But I would guess that the MSM will drop it as quickly as they can....

Made a similar comment earlier in this thread. Friday afternoon, summer Olympics start today in Beijing ... this story, in large measure because the liberal MSM has no stomach for it, will disappear quickly. Now, of course, if Edwards had an (R) after his name and not a (D), it would be the biggest political scandal in 2008.
I wonder if they feel the least bit sleazy defending him on this; like they are in the sewer with the rats. Oh nevermind, they are and it’s not like they haven’t been there before.
That is a great point -- had the MSM done their jobs Edwards would have been toast before the first primary or caucus. Hillary would have been a shoe-in, I think, even with the Obama phenomenon. So maybe we can thank the sloth and bias and dishonesty of the MSM in this case.... for keeping Edwards around long enough to allow Hillary to be stopped.
So how did the Clintonistas with their famed "opp research" fail to get ahold of this story before now?
