No, Mike Rogers of Alabama is “working in the district” today. I am very disappointed with that because the best work he could do today is help put pressure on lifting the ban on domestic drilling. He could be part of this historic measure.
But he isn’t.

I read somewhere up thread that Blount or Boehner will not be there today and it’s not clear if either will be there any time this week.
Why? Don’t they know their schedule? I certainly think they should both be there or else it looks lame.

But is she going to DC? YES. That's how she led the discussion: "I'm sitting here in the House of Representatives instead of at my home in Ft. Collins, drinking coffee at my counter because..."
Not a direct quote mind you but you can listen to 850 KOA.

Illegal?
Whatever happened to:
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I heard what was said to be the audio of the vote. It was a voice vote, which means the side that yelled the loudest won. You really couldn't tell what was going on, there was so much noise. It was not a roll call vote in which each member's vote was recorded, so what your congressRat told you was almost certainly a flat out lie, not that that would be a surprise. I heard the same audio on Hannity's show. They followed the voice vote with with a 15-minute roll call (individual vote).
Sounds like the WAY old days! lol

Thanks...I'll check his appearance schedule in the newsletter.
He had scheduled local appearances to meet and take questions from his district during the break.

I don’t believe the Founding Fathers had air conditioning—and it gets pretty awful here in the summer in the Philadelphia area!

“If you can somehow find a way to let these guys — the Republicans — know that you are appreciative of what they're doing, that they're finally standing up and that they are fighting the Democrat majority on this and taking it to them on an issue that matters greatly to a vast majority of the American people, do it. And I want to congratulate them and encourage them to keep up these kinds of legislative tactics. They've been absent for way too long. This is gutsy and it's courageous, and it will stand these guys in good stead. It will inspire their voters, it will inspire them, and you can inspire them by letting them know you appreciate what they are doing.”

Thanks, for the great post with Rush's remarks.
It is President Bush that needs to act too. Recall congress for emergency session. Capitalize on how important it is to act now.!!!!!!!!!!

T. Boone Pickens talks about $700 Billion leaving the U.S. every year to pay for this oil.
I’d like to ask the environmentalists, what is the amount of pollution these tankers emit bring the oil here?

That is so sad to hear but not too surprising. It’s rare that lawyers make good talk show hosts. Mark is about the only one I can think of who breaks the mold.
