The director of the FBI is not happy with the Supreme Court's recent handgun ruling.
Robert Mueller says he tends to believe that "weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."
Mueller said the high court's decision, which threw out a handgun ban in Washington, D.C., "does throw a lot of things up in the air."
Mueller said communities will now have to decide their own licensing programs.
Mueller was speaking at a convention of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators in Hartford, Connecticut.
He says with his grandchildren going to college, he hopes "those campuses will be weapons-free."

Mueller has been leading the clinton faction of the FBI on the charge ever since Bush made the gross mistake of appointing him director.
As I said on another thread, he may well be Bush’s worst single appointment ever. He has actually done far more damage than Alberto Gonzalez.
It was a huge mistake to leave George Tenet in office, but Bush didn’t appoint him—he was a holdover clinton stooge.

Has the F.B.I. covered any embarassing incidents lately? Yep. 7 years of investigation in the the anthrax attacks has shown that the lone suspect was just paid $5million+ for the hassle.

I shudder to think how this would’ve turned out if Myers was on the bench. Bush sucks.

Has anyone else noticed how the talk seems to center around the licensure of a fundamental right as if it were mere priveledge?
It was the first thing I noticed. When did we give state/local governments the power to decide whether or not to grant me a license to own something which I have a guaranteed right to?

"He is obviously unfit to serve and should be fired immediately." Yes. An FBI director who is not willing to enforce the civil rights of American Citizens needs to go. I'm sure the Brady folks could find a suitable position for him.

Robert Mueller says he tends to believe that "weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."Even if you're correct, Mr. Mueller, how is that relevant? It's our right to own and carry guns.
...he hopes "those campuses will be weapons-free."
So did the students at Virginia Tech. "Hope" is not a strategy.

Muller needs to look at the facts instead of complaining about a right that was given to us at our Nation's foundation. The right of an individual to defend themselves comes for our creator and not from any government. Our founders recognised these kind rights in our Constitution because they knew that it is foolish for a government to try and take them away.

"weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."
THAT has to be one of the most imbecilic statements ever uttered by any LEO at any level! "more often than not"???? Really Mr. Mueller? Millions and millions of handguns are carried - you're saying that in a MAJORITY of cases those weapons "harm the people carrying them"???? That is delusional.
I knew Mueller tended lib but I didn't know he was such a complete bozo.
