The director of the FBI is not happy with the Supreme Court's recent handgun ruling.
Robert Mueller says he tends to believe that "weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."
Mueller said the high court's decision, which threw out a handgun ban in Washington, D.C., "does throw a lot of things up in the air."
Mueller said communities will now have to decide their own licensing programs.
Mueller was speaking at a convention of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators in Hartford, Connecticut.
He says with his grandchildren going to college, he hopes "those campuses will be weapons-free."
Obviously many just don't get it ... sigh
I guess it needs repeating constantly.
Thanks

Other than Alito and Roberts on the court has Bush brought ANY true conservatives to serve in his administration???
That boy is an idgit !
FBI Agent Christopher Braga, who shot an innocent man because he was in a red car, was also an ex-Marine.
No. It is like someone saying that people who own power tools are more likely to be injured by the same power tools. Nothing more.
‘Robert Mueller says he tends to believe that “weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them.”’
I tend to believe that Mueller has his head where the sun don’t shine. ;-)
I’d sure like to see stats on crimes prevented by CCW holders versus accidents involving injury. Of course, the ‘chilling effect’ of CCW on crime is more difficult to measure.
As to wanting his grandchildren to attend a gun-free college - I guess he means he wants them to attend a college where only the criminals have guns. Great idea, just ask the good folks who attend Virginia Tech.
Now that is more believable. My circular saw really really makes me nervous whenever I handle the thing.
Well, FBI agents have four year degress, dontchaknow!
I can see how THAT conversation would go:
Obamie: Okay Mueller, we see that you can play the game and are willing to grovel, but can you go the extra mile? Look, if you want a guaranteed spot in the administration you're going to have to do a little "W" bashing. You know what I mean. You need to be "disallusioned" and find Bush to be "contradictory", so much so that you've considered resigning...that kind of thing. So whaddya say? Are you willing to go the extra mile and sling some mud? Cause if you ain't, I got a hundred more that can fill that AG spot...
People who believe in such fairy tales shouldn’t be allowed to hold public office. Or, perhaps, its not so much that he believes in liberal fairy tales, but that he’s getting in touch with his inner JBT.
***He says with his grandchildren going to college, he hopes “those campuses will be weapons-free.”***
In playing Rainbow Six, Weapons-Free usually means fire-at-will.
I can live with that on a college campus.
Let's not forget, Alito was not Bush's first choice. He chose the less conservative and completely unproven Harriet Miers.
We knew he was anti-2nd amendment when Bush appointed him. Nothing new here.
How could we forget. Not that Roberts and Alito are anything to sneeze at.
***...they more often than not harm the people carrying them...
Does that include FBI agents?***
ATF
Henry Bowman is smiling...
I call bullcrap!
I’ve had a .380 in a drawer, no more than 18” to my right side, for 10 years now.
It has not harmed me. Not even once. Not even a little.
So much for your “beliefs”.
