Tim Russert, NBC journalist and political heavyweight host of "Meet the Press," has died after collapsing at NBC's Washington news bureau, a source said. He was 58 years old.
Wrong.
I thought he was still alive?
My sincere sympathy and prayers for his family. Regardless of his political views, he was reportedly a good son, good husband, good father, and a good man. He’ll be missed!
Some people are just prone due to genetics and there isn't much that can be done, my husband is. He had to quit his high stress job yesterday as the doctor told him he was right on the verge of a heart attack. He has a genetic blood disorder and takes 4 different kinds of cholesterol medication to keep it under control. His dad died at age 42 from a heart attack, my hubby is 54 and already had one triple bypass a year ago. We've just had to prepare ourselves for the fact that it could happen at any time. Poor guy was crying yesterday because he is afraid he won't live to see his new grandson who is due to be born in August.
Prayers up for Tim Russert's family and friends.
“Man knoweth not his time.” RIP
Eternal rest grant to them O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon them. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
My heart goes out to his young son, his father, his wife. I’m so sorry to hear this. What a shock for his loved ones. His politics aside, his books reveal a man who revered God, loved his family, and knew what was important in life. This is so sad. They will be in my prayers. How tragic that this should happen so close to Father’s Day, a day so closely identified with Tim Russert.
President and Mrs. Bush Saddened by Death of Tim RussertLaura and I are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Tim Russert. Those of us who knew and worked with Tim, his many friends, and the millions of Americans who loyally followed his career on the air will all miss him.
As the longest-serving host of the longest-running program in the history of television, he was an institution in both news and politics for more than two decades. Tim was a tough and hardworking newsman. He was always well-informed and thorough in his interviews. And he was as gregarious off the set as he was prepared on it.
Most important, Tim was a proud son and father, and Laura and I offer our deepest sympathies to his wife Maureen, his son Luke, and the entire Russert family. We will keep them in our prayers.
Glad I’m not the only one wondering about the Clintons.
prayers for the family and friends
COMMIE Keith Olbermann on MSNBC. You know he’s happy, vying for moderator I’m sure
RIP TIM RUSSERT
REPORTS ARE THAT HE HATED KEITH OLBERMANN AND WAS ASHAMED OF HIM, HE DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE DOING COVERAGE OF HIM.
Big Russ is still alive.
I’m not overweight and in better shape than Tim Russert. But his death is a shock and I am vowing to get more exercise, eat more solidly and cut out the junk food (Which is not that much anyway)
God Bless him
I just got home and heard the news. I still can’t believe it.
How terrible. For a liberal, I actually liked the guy.
This is beyond sad.
Amen
Tim Russert might have been a liberal. But he was an old-fashioned kind that believed in America and Fatherhood, and traditional values. It is our loss and he will be replaced by a mind-numbing politically correct liberal shill.
Right on.
Wayyy over the top, dude. Russert was left-leaning, but he was no Kennedy. He was a product of his working class roots and upbringing. I’ve got a dozen relatives just like him.
RIP, Mr. Russert.
