Tim Russert, NBC journalist and political heavyweight host of "Meet the Press," has died after collapsing at NBC's Washington news bureau, a source said. He was 58 years old.
“Things happen in June...,” Hillary Rodham Clinton
Oh my gosh! Too young. :-(
Condolences to his family.
RIP
Condolences to the family.
Clearly Bush’s fault.
I noticed MSNBC and CNBC have regularly scheduled programming. Geesh.
RIP, Tim.
My goodness, his family must be devestated.
I liked him, he was tough on both sides of the aisle, and he gave equal time, a pity that he is gone, he will be missed.
This is tragic...awful.
The Lord’s compassion to his family.
I always thought he looked like he had very high blood pressure.
There were times when Russert approached fair and balanced.
Seems so wrong, just before Father’s Day. My heart breaks for his family...including his father. No parent should have to bury their child.
So very, very sad.
I, for one, will miss him.
Prayers.
We ask for comfort for Mr. Russert's family during this time of shock and mourning. We pray that Tim had the assurance of Your beautiful gift of salvation, Lord, and ask that Your perfect peace would enfold all those who knew and loved him. Thank You for this kindly man and the many lives he touched. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Very sad. Friday the 13th no less.
Damn, Im real sorry to hear this. He was WAY too young. Prayers from our family to the Russerts..
I asked this question in the other thread, but it’s now closed. Did the building have an AED? I ask this only because it’s becoming more and more common for places with a large number of people to have them. They don’t always work, but they’re far more effective in terms of survival than just CPR and waiting for an ambulance.
That, unfortunately, may give us a clue as to why this happened to such a young man. Sitting on long flights can lead to blood clots in the legs.
I'd bet you're probably right. Shades of David Bloom.
Russert was recording voiceovers for Sundays Meet the Press program when he collapsed, the network said. He and his family had recently returned from Italy, where they celebrated the graduation of Russerts son, Luke, from Boston College.
Wait, first there were 3 threads, one with over a hundred replies. Now, there’s only one thread, with about 40 replies. Why?
How terrible. He was far too young to die. Prayers...
RIP Mr. Russert
So live that when thy summons comes to join
The innumerable caravan that moves
To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave,
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.
William Cullen Bryant (American Writer, 1794-1878)
Prayers up for Tim's loved ones and colleagues.
