Kaczur was accused of buying OxyContin; Secretly helped DEA in indicting supplier.
Starting New England Patriots offensive lineman Nicholas Kaczur was arrested in April on a charge of illegal possession of prescription painkillers and then secretly cooperated with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration in a sting operation that resulted in the indictment of his alleged drug supplier, according to a lawyer and two people briefed on the investigation. Kaczur - a 28-year-old, 315-pound offensive tackle - wore a hidden recording device during three different drug transactions in May at gas stations in Foxborough and North Attleborough and a supermarket parking lot in Sharon, according to the lawyer, the two people, and federal court documents. At each of the three transactions, Kaczur paid $3,900 in cash to buy 100 OxyContin pills, a potent prescription pain reliever.
Federal agents arrested the alleged dealer, Daniel Ekasala, moments after the third transaction with Kaczur, said Ekasala's lawyer. He was indicted by a federal grand jury yesterday on three counts of possession of oxycodone (the main ingredient in the prescription drug OxyContin) with intent to distribute. He is due to be arraigned today in federal court.
Kaczur, approached yesterday afternoon by a Globe reporter as he stood on the front porch of his Attleboro home, denied participating in a DEA investigation or buying drugs. He also said he was not familiar with Ekasala.
"I don't know what you're talking about, bro," Kaczur said repeatedly, in response to questions about the investigation. "I don't know where this is coming from. I don't know what you are talking about."

Bad stuff, that oxy.
Ekasala, Grossberg said yesterday, has himself been asked to cooperate by federal agents, but he has repeatedly rejected their proposal. “He is not cooperating,” Grossberg said.
Probably prefers to stay alive!
And 100 pills every few days? At almost $40 per pill? Really now!
I’ve never been a fan of this guy.
NFL Ping
But the Commish will give the Pats a pass... AGAIN.
I read an article recently that mentioned a stat.."95% of NFL fans despise the Patriots."
Evidently there is some truth to that. It is too bad that the pursuit of excellence is so reviled by so many. Commentary on society as a whole it seems as well.
An individual player dealing/using drugs is hardly a reason to punish a team.
I have to laugh at the article. It presents that all this happened as if it were facts, then puts the denial of the party involved much lower in the story.
He wore a WIRE? Isn’t that like cheating...oh wait
I had a bad experience from a gum cleaning - too painful for words, so they gave me oxy-cotin - it did nothing for me. When I had a cesarean-section, they gave me percocet and that sent me into loopy-overdrive!!!!!! Percocet is very powerful, beware./Just Asking - seoul62........
Ummm, maybe it has to do with the fact that they are cheating snitches and that their fans are whiney, obnoxious and don't know how to talk right?
40 bucks a pill, JEEZ!!!
And they call this stuff Redneck Heroin?
I’d just as well go for the real thing and save some cash.
mt GF just recently hired a sweet young woman for her office.
Well, A co-worker recently introduced her to some low life.
Now sweet young Holly is addicted to snorting Oxy.
Nice.
My buddy spent a few days in the local lock-up for an DWI. He said the entire jail is full of Oxy/Heroin users.
The rest were restraining order violations.
Maybe the pain of ending up 18-1 was just too much for him and drove him to drugs.
Think O’reilly would label this guy a pinheaded patriot?
Goodall recently instated a policy that punished the team for a player’s illegal activity. At least that’s the last I had read.
“95% of NFL fans despise the Patriots.””
I’m amazed at it, but then a remembrance of the old Yankees’ monopoly on baseball crowns made me realize that that’s how people are. The more pennants the Yankees won, the more people hated them.
And General Motors in its heyday was hated and persecuted and prosecuted for its success.
