A Home Depot store in Utah plans to celebrate Gay pride in the Store with decorations of Rainbows and employee Tee shirts announcing gay pride. Inside sources say that this is something that will be devastating to business as most of the customer base tends to be on the Right side of the issue as they are mostly religious people. I am actively involved in this business and i dont want to be a part of it bacuae this is contrary to my belief and would like advice from more experienced FReepers on how best to disrupt these outrageous plans...
Maybe even Pizza!
Or maybe even hamburgers!!
They lost the sale of a Mustang to me and my wife. I wouldn’t allow it. Ford, take note.
Ith a thstrong potthability. Maybe Bawny Fwank will be Gwand Mattha .
Games to?...... I’m wondering what the special sale items will be and how much the reduction will be....
This is pretty screwed up. I know Canada is farther down the path with this stuff, but we don’t see crap like this here.
Heck Lowes will get the benefit of the doings as there customers will get the same sale price if they ask or tell the sales person that HD has a gay sale going with a discount.
Again, it sounds like an oversight or mistake to me, made by the bank with the contract for HD's credit services. Very much doubt you could locate any number of other customers who wre treated especially leniently.
not to mention the caulk guns!
If I tell them that I am Gay, will I get a big discount on some power tools or maybe even a new lawn tractor?
I agree. He was as shocked as you are.I have heard many horror stories about them but have had no dealings with them other than cash,so when he told me I was naturally suspect also. But,as I mentioned,he was never late on a payment either.I believe that may have had something to do with it.
definitely agree with post #4

No, but the new “Boy’s Toy’s” section in the roped-off corner behind plumbing has some specials during the promotion (must be 18 to enter).
If true, I sure as hell am not going to take my kids there anymore for the “kid’s workshop classes”.
If it is important to you to keep this job, then there's not much you can do. Take a vacation day or something.
You could refuse to wear the t-shirt based on your religious beliefs or something, but I bet they could find some reason to can you if you cause much of a stink.
I won’t give Home Depot my business, either. When building a new property 2 years ago, I spent over $10K at Lowes. They not only treated me nicely, their staff would walk with me and my list until everything was found and I was ready to check out. They are always cheerful, and clean and polite. Home Depot sucks eggs, IMO.
Homedepot.com has this Milwaukee Router listed for $279.00.
If I go to Home Depot during Gay Days will they sell it to me for say $175.00 if I tell them that I am gay?
Looks like Lowe’s is gonna get a lot more business!
‘Are you joking? What are you, 15? You’d quit your job just because a bunch of people want to wear rainbows to work one day? Really? ‘
and you wouldn’t ? is there a line you would NOT be willing to cross for a JOB ? Do only 15 year olds have morals and beliefs nowadays? is that what you are saying ?
Is this a one store deal or all stores?
seems to be something to write to stock holder relations. Home Depot has been stagnant over the last year.
I am certain they don’t want to suffer the “lipton tea” effect. (see: dixie chix.....who?)
Now we know what to get you for Father’s Day.
