Photo of Ayers Stepping on Flag

A 2001 photo of William Ayers, an associate of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, shows the former terrorist stepping on an American flag.

The photo was taken to promote Ayers’s book, “Fugitive Days” and published by Chicago Mag for their August 2001 issue.

As Obama has gained national prominence as a Democratic presidential contender media figures have questioned his relationship with Ayers. Ayers once hosted a fundraiser for Obama and the two have served together on the board of a philanthropic organization.

In a nationally televised debate Obama compared his friendship with Ayers to that of conservative Republican Sen. Tom Coburn and that the offensive activities Ayers participated in happened long ago.

ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos asked, “Can you explain that relationship for the voters, and explain to Democrats why it won't be a problem?”

Obama replied that Ayers “is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who's a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He's not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis. And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn't make much sense, George. The fact is, is that I'm also friendly with Tom Coburn, one of the most conservative Republicans in the United States Senate, who during his campaign once said that it might be appropriate to apply the death penalty to those who carried out abortions.”

Didn’t Bill Ayers host a fund raiser for Obama in his house? Wouldn’t there be photos of Obama and Ayres together?

Why isn’t Ayers in jail? First, because leftists and RINOs run our “justice” system. 2nd, because when Ayers and Dohrn finally surrendered after a decade underground (which meant living a life of crime to finance themselves, stealing purses and wallets to keep themselves going) there was a little problem of some illegal surveillance that had been authorized by the notorious Mark Felt (FBI) of Watergate “Deep Throat” fame.

Here’s what Ayers has to say about how he got off with not even a slap on the wrist:

“Guilty as sin, free as a bird, America is a great country.”

In 1980 the two surrendered, but all charges against them were dropped due to an “improper surveillance” technicality. Ayers’ comment on his life, as reported by Peter Collier and David Horowitz in their authoritative chapter on Weatherman in Destructive Generation, is this: “Guilty as sin, free as a bird, America is a great country.”

> The True Face of the Democrat Party. Remember the backdrop at the last democrat debate?. The set had a series of vertical panels, that, taken together, formed an American Flag. A very abstract one, but Old Glory, all the same, with the msnbc peacock logo plastered all over it. Not exactly proper Flag etiquette if you ask me.

What REALLY got my attention with respect to how the democrat party feels about the Flag goes back to the 2004 convention, when they passed out American Flags to the delegates to wave on camera. When they were done with the photo-op they THREW THE FLAGS ON THE FLOOR AND TRAMPLED ALL OVER THEM, and later all those Flags wound up in the dumpsters. Words fail me at this point, anything else I might say would get me banned.

The three following excerpts are from the same August 2001 Chicago Magazine article in which this photo appeared. In Sept 2001, Ayers did that more famous interview for the New York Slimes (Times):

"In 1980, Ayers and Dohrn turned themselves in. (The first words Ayers's father said to him were, "You need a haircut.") By then they had had two children together, and the bombing conspiracy charge against the couple had been dismissed due to government misconduct.

Dohrn plea-bargained to charges of inciting to mob action and resisting police officers. She was sentenced to three years' probation and a $1,500 fine. Ayers was not charged. Even then he showed a way with words:

'Guilty as hell, free as a bird—America is a great country,' he said."

(snip)

"'Essentially, you must see the student before you as a locus of energy,' he says. 'He already has a heart, a soul, a mind, interests, and dreams. You need to help him shape those interests, pursue those dreams.' Ayers is distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where two years ago the university named him Senior University Scholar, an award given to outstanding faculty members."-page 3 of 3.

(snip)

"'I think there will be another mass political movement,' he predicts, 'because I believe that the kind of injustice that is built into our world will not go quietly into the night.'"-page 3 of 3.

He did this in 2001. This is not a youthful indescretion, but a recent display of a treasonous outlook. If he opposes the War on Terror, that’s his Constitutional right, but if he’s going to do stuff like that, maybe he should find another country to live in.

And, why did Bill Clinton pardon 2 women who were sentenced to prison for 44 to 58 years for their crime while being members of the Weathermen, as well as the 16 FALN Puerto Rican terrorists.

Mrs. Clintons seems to be getting a pass on these truly despicable pardons made by her husband.
