THE 35 BEST SHOWS ON TV--EVER
New York Post ^ | April 27, 2008 | ROBERT RORKE AND STEPHEN LYNCH

Our parents told us TV would melt our brains. While it's possible "Punky Brewster" and "A-Team" did just that, along the way we saw some genius art. Television can't play 90 minutes on the big screen and vanish into the bargain bin. And it lacks one author to take it from introduction to the final page. Yet within these boundaries, there are a small number of shows that capture our attention, our obsession, and create enduring stories. How many? 35. They're listed here.

I absolutely agree : Winfrey still hasn't filled Donahue's shoes. I don't care how big her media empire is, it was Phil who created the issue oriented talk show format as we now know it.

Or as we used to know it. Oprah has simply corrupted it.

Donahue provided the vehicle she has used for over 20 years.

Barney Miller, WKRP in Cincinnati and Cheers have to be on the list...

Looks like it is the 24th most popular episode on IMDB.com. Good ranking:

Prince Planet was the U.S. version of the Japanese TV show Yûsei Shônen Poppi ("Meteor Boy Poppy"). I'm pretty sure there are episodes on YouTube.

The biggest tragedy is “The Wire” not being on there. A close second is “Arrested Development”. Newer shows but already classics in my opinion.

Where the HELL is "Let's Make a Deal?"

Wotta bunch of smegheads...

If game shows are to be included, THE PRICE IS RIGHT has to fall in there somewhere.

I always liked :”I led three lives.” Richard Carlson fighting commies—it didn’t get much better than that.
But, I am an old dude.

Tale of Wells Fargo
Cheyenne

Yes, and how about Sugarfoot, Maverick, Death Valley Days, The Rifleman (one of my favorites with Chuck Connors and his amazing rifle and his son who was about my age at the time), and Wanted: Dead or Alive (great early Steve McQueen). Those were great days for television.

I’m assuming this list was limited to American TV, because the best show ever made in the human history is Doctor Who.

I’m happy to say that there are fifteen of these shows that I’ve never seen one minute of.

I saw it before I came to faith in Christ, without a doubt one of the scariest films ever made... very subtle. I refuse to watch it again, frighteningly demonic.
