Thank you for your email.
We appreciate that you contact us to share your opinion. At ABSOLUT we are used to active reactions to our advertising, and we want our consumers to share their opinion - positive or negative. We have a policy to always reply to all emails individually, but due to the large amount of emails concerning the In an ABSOLUT World Mexico ad, we are unfortunately not able to answer all emails individually at this moment.
We acknowledge the reactions and debate and want to apologize for the concerns this ad caused. We are truly sorry and understand that the ad has offended many persons. This was not our intention.
The ad has been withdrawn as of Friday April 4th and will not be used in the future.
In no way was the ad meant to offend or disparage, or advocate an al! tering of borders, lend support to any anti-American sentiment, or to reflect immigration issues.
To ensure that we avoid future similar mistakes, we are adjusting our internal advertising approval process for ads that are developed in local markets.
Again, we are very sorry that we cannot reply to your email, if you want to continue the discussion and share your opinion with us and others, please go to our blog www.absolut.com/iaaw/blog
Our sincere apologies,

I make mead and home brew beer.
I won’t drink fermented, distilled potato juice. Sorry.
IMO, Absolut can never apologize enough. I don't see how any right-thinking American can ever buy their product again.
I have probably bought one or two bottles of Absolut ever. There are, IMO many other choices that are as good or better for the same price.
So this ad was supposed to have appeared only in Mexico??? Why is it written in English??
Do they have to press #1 for Spanish down there????
Good point. No more Absolut!!
There are many checks and balances when ads are put together to insure they are not dramatically offensive, will not generate lawsuits, etc.
This ad, therefore, did not just "happen". A highly-placed muckey-muck(s) in the company WANTED this "in your face, Americans" ad to run. And run it did whether or not the professionals working on it approved of it or not.
If we still have any spine, let's not pluck this vodka off the shelf......and let's tell our friends and family to do the same. This will let Absolut know that we're not buying their lame and self-serving mea culpas......and that we KNOW the offense was bald-faced and deliberately produced on purpose.

My own personal boycott of Absolut began the day I saw that ad. Nothing they can say now will change my stance. They have only dug themselves a deep hole that I hole from which I hope they never recover.
Lots of alcohol drank in the Hispanic community and I bet signs in that area are still up.
We'll forget in a year probably.

I received the same generic reply.
I could be wrong, but I believe the company did get bought out in the last couple of days. The punishment/boycott will work only if we know who bought it and what else that company sells.
That works!
Two words: Grey Goose.
My little gray cells are really working overtime, LOL. Pour me a vodka and orange juice, pul-eeez!
