It seems the more Barack Obama tries to explain the peculiar statement he made Tuesday concerning his white grandmother's "fear of black men who passed by her on the street," the more he's assuring attention regarding the matter.
"The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity...But she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know . . .inbred...reaction in her that doesn't go away and it comes out in the wrong way."

Obama is a typical Marxist.
But Hillary isn’t screwing up.
She’s just sitting there with less delegates than Barry, exposing excuses for the supers to throw the nomination to her.
Jesse Jackson balanced it out by spitting in white people’s food.
Wow, kicked grannie’s walker out from under her twice in one week, she must be so proud.
It would have been racist of you to say "watermelon vine."
Good point. If my daughter had done what Stanley Ann did and the results were thus, I think anyone would be JUSTIFIED in being a racist bigot.
But I don’t see either Grandpa or Grandma being racist here.
Only Barry.
Someone said that grams is still alive?
Wow, he really did say it, and to Angelo Cataldi on the morning sports radio show! Just wrong, there is no “typical” white or black person, that kind of thinking is plain ignorant. I don’t care how much Obama sugar coats it, he is Rev. Wright’s protoge.
I read the speech through several times. It is really a masterpiece, moving and though I disagree with him staying in a church with a pastor he knew was spouting nonsense on some topics, there is no perfect pastor and they all get it wrong on some things. What I would fault him for, if he did not do this, is failing to bring up his disagreements with this pastor at the time of the remarks. You know, give him a call, take him to lunch and say to him “Pastor, you know the citizens in the towers that day, on the plane that day, in the Pentagon that day did not BRING THIS ON THEMSELVES and some of them were African Americans who were killed in those towers on those planes in the Pengtagon. Pastor, please consider telling the congregation that what you said was incorrect, these Americans who were killed did not ‘bring this on themselves’ and instead say something like what perhaps you meant and that is that the US government’s policies have not helped the Christian Church to spread the gospel in these Muslim lands by insisting upon Christians there having the freedoms we provide to Muslims here in our country! Tell the people in our pews that America gives Muslims the opportunity to spread their views about their god here but our government has not provided support for our missionaries to spread the word about Jesus into these Muslim lands. That is the problem, isn’t it? If our missionaries in Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Saudio Arabia, Kenya were permitted to preach the gospel and win Muslims away from this false god allah to faith in the Lord Jesus who loves them and died for our sins then instead of believing that by blowing up our towers and killing people that they would win God’s approval they will see that God loves them just as they are without one plea and that the true God doesn’t want them to gain heaven by killing His enemies but by loving them!! Pastor, preach this gospel.”
But did Obama say these things? He would have told us this if he had, wouldn’t he?
He must have known that the Wright tapes would surface eventually and sink his campaign. What is he in this for?
She is. But of course the Obama people have her locked away.
God.... the stories she could tell about Barry!!!
(drool)
Ironic, isn’t it? Here we have a man who was doing fine with the unity theme until he made it plain that he cannot let go of the divisive politics of race.
this makes “I actually voted for the $89 billion before voting against it” seem like chicken feed....
Obamas teenage self-consciousness is perpetually crucified by contact with stereotypes about blacks. When his grandmother wants a ride to work because the day before, while awaiting the bus, she was threatened by a black panhandler, he is outragedat his grandparents. And yet I knew that men who might easily have been my brothers could still inspire their rawest fears. In high school, he gets upset when a white girl mentioned in the middle of conversation how much she liked Stevie Wonder; or when a woman in the supermarket asked me if I played basketball; or when the school principal told me I was cool.
The great irony of the book is that so many of the stereotypes about African-Americans and Africans turn out, in his troubling experience, to be truewhich doesnt make Obama happy at all: I did like Stevie Wonder, I did love basketball, and I tried my best to be cool at all times. So why did such comments always set me on edge? (When he moves to the South Side of Chicago, he eventually discovers that, like his grandmother, hes sometimes scared of black males on the street, too.)
I guess that makes Barack a bit racist, too, like a "typical white person".
How does Obama explain to his children the dichotomy between what Rev. Wright says about whites and their grammy?
Don’t even mention watermelon! By the way, this Dutch-American boy loves watermelon!
His true “color” is finally showing. He is creating a bigger gap between the races rather than bringing people together. By using the term “typical white person” instead of “typical human being” he reveals his own prejudice. He judges people by the color of their skin.
Jesse Jackson- There is nothing more painful to me ... than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved. -- the Reverend Jesse Jackson, as quoted in US News, 3/10/96 (from News Busters)
Per a couple of polsters on Hannity’s radio program, Obama’s numbers seem to be in freefall.
