It started a few weeks ago when conservative radio powerhouse Rush Limbaugh suggested that his Republican following cross over during the primary to vote for Clinton. Clinton, Limbaugh argued, would be easier for McCain to beat in November......
A staggering 16,000-plus Republicans in Cuyahoga County switched parties when they voted in last week's primary.
At least one member of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections wants to investigate some Republicans who may have crossed party lines only to influence which Democrat would face John McCain.
Anyone who crossed lines was supposed to sign a pledge card vowing allegiance to their new party. In Cuyahoga County, dozens and dozens of Republicans scribbled addendums onto their pledges as new Democrats.
"For one day only."
"I don't believe in abortion."
A Plain Dealer review of thousands of records showed few of those who switched were challenged by poll workers.
Ohio voters are allowed to switch party affiliations on the day of a primary election but only if they sign a pledge vowing to support their new party - and mean it.
Lying on the pledge is a felony, punishable by six to 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine.

The little old lady (polling volunteer) who was processing my voting credit card completely lost her sense of humor when I approached her. I made a point of being very nice to her and wished her a very nice day. ;-)
Mark Belling (local talkshow host in Milwaukee) said the only way to have voter ID laws and stricter election rules would be for Republicans to cheat like the Democrats do. It looks like he may be on to something.
I got celebrity treatment.
Eggxactly, Joanne! Well said! Touche!
This election..large conservative counties need to hold out reporting. They always play chicken but blink first.
Of course my sweat shirt proclaiming Vote Republican if you value life didnt help much.
I didn’t think you could do that.
I dont think that proves anything....many wall streeters contribute to both parties...
but my point was you really cant prove intent...that would require you to read the voters mind...which aint gonna happen...
it would be perfectly acceptable as a defense to say you woke up on super tuesday and was sure you were going to vote democrat this year, and then you saw some candidates remarks on the news following your ballot casting, and claim you realized what a huge mistake you made and you’ll never vote democrat again...until next time:)
Being the coward that I am, I didnt open my winter coat to reveal this political statement until I had voted and was leaving the polling station. ;-)
pro-lifers not welcome in the democrat party? tell that to majority leader harry reid

well there is only one solution.
Arrest every republican and put them in reeducation camps.
:’)
well this now adds to the contention. Obama can say that Ohio shouldn’t count and hillary can say other primaries shouldn’t count because of republicans playing around
this is getting good.
they ought to arrest Rush for encouraging crime in Ohio,,,hhahahahhahahahhahaha
ROTFL! Only dems are allowed to break rules and laws for elections!
This is hilarious. The Left hates loyalty oaths when they are about defending America. But loyalty oaths to political parties? You vill comply!
THAT pledge is unconstitutional. You can vote for whoever you want.
Can't have children pledge to the country but breaking a pledge to a PARTY is punishable my prison time?
