Latest HOT HOT HOT Rumor From Friends/Fiends/Network News Sources – Hillary To Quit Senate

As about 10 minutes ago, people are working this TOTALLY UNCONFIRMED rumor: Hillary will quit Senate.

Reasons are multiple:

1. A desperation attempt to show voters she is willing to “put everything on the line" to devote all her time and energy to her quest for Presidency.

2. To do something, anything, to change the almost universal headlines about her imploding campaign.

3. Portray herself as a “victim” yet again.

4. She never had much power or respect in the Senate anyway. All her power stemmed from her position as the presumptive nominee for President.

5. She has no desire to work in a job where, assuming her Presidential bid fails, she would be “equal” to 99 others.

6. In Senate, she is limited in what she can earn on lecture circuit. Out of Senate, she will command $100,000 to $250,000 per lecture, 10 to 60 times a year, be waited on hand and foot, and work only as hard as she wants to.

7. She can keep herself in the limelight as head of some foundation she creates, and answer to no one.

8. She can keep her private life, which has been greatly restricted for the last few months, as open or as secret as she wants.

9. She can do what she wants, with as much or as little alignment with Bill as she wants.

10, More than anything else, she was only ever in public life for the power it would bring her and her desire to drive America into a socialist state, and the failure of this campaign signals the end of much of her political power.

The general idea is that she would quit anyway for reasons listed, so why not do it now when there a chance, however slight and desperate, that it might reignite her campaign.

Hey, they’ll be looking for a junior Senator. Maybe I ought to run. I’ve lived in New York as much as she did before she was elected. And I’ve been to a couple of Yankee games. And I had a genuine New York pizza one time. In Boise.

“I wish she’d quit America and just go away - maybe to Venezuela.”

I can’t stand Hugo Chavez, but what do you have against the people of Venezuela?

Hillary blew it. She should have run in 2004, but she thought she would be the automatic nominee—she never in her wildest dreams could have predicted BO

It could buy her a few days of favorable headlines and a possible March 4th comeback. She and Governor Spitzer are close, so she could get him to hold off an appointment until after March 4th and then reappoint her if things do not work out.

She could also drop out and run as VP on a McCain ticket if the fireworks between her and Osama Obama get really ugly. But I don't think so as the worst questions she has raised so far are about Tony Rezco.

That being said, I'll believe it when I see it.

If she quits for a while but still crashes in Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania, could the governor name her as her own replacement?

Is Senator Johnson back to voting again? If Hillary left and Johnson wasn't around to vote, that would leave the votes for leadership positions at 49-49. Could the Republicans take back control?

I would love to see:
1) Hillary quits the senate
2) Hillary loses the DNC nomination for President
3) Hill and Bill go nuclear on the (D) party and release all the accumulated dirt on everyone from Murtha to Kennedy to Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Rockefeller, Kennedy, Durbin, Waxman etc. making the (D) party a laughing stock for the rest of my existance on this planet. Did I mention Kennedy?

We can then start on the (R) party ourselves and restore our nation to it's lofty pedestal.

Sounds like a rumor started by the Clinton campaign to shift media attention away from Obama. Though the reasons for quitting are pretty compelling.

Well, Guilianni is probably the best we can hope for in NY for a Senator. D’Amato was a fluke since the lib vote split with a strong independent run in his first election. Wonder if Guilianni will run if the exit of Hillary is true.

All good reasons. But if she can’t be president, she doesn’t want a puny senator’s job.

heck I would believe it. Because, she and Bill want this election, this year. If it doesn’t happen for her, she won’t want to go back to being a senator. She was only a senator to get the so-called experience to run for president. And the possibilities outside the Senate to make money, do whatever she wants, etc. could make her want to do this. Unless she wants to stay in the Senate and run for pres. in the future, if this year doesn’t work out for her.
