Second Amendment Poll-USATODAY (question about Individual Rights)
email | 1/5/7 | do the dhue

Posted on 01/05/2008 8:35:40 AM PST by do the dhue

Please vote this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms.

First - vote on this one.

Second - launch it to all the pro-gun folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published.

To vote in the USA Today poll, click on the link below. Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?

No, it doesn't. It protects a previously existing right. But I'm sure that subtlety is lost on the folks as USA Today, so I clicked yes.

“It protects a previously existing right.”

I was able to vote at the link.

But let me be the first to point out the fallacy of the question. The Second Amendment affirms our innate right to keep and bear arms. It doesn't grant us a damn thing.

It’s really a poll on whether people like Adobe Flash or not.

Worked fine for me.
After you press vote now, it takes you to the running results.
97% YES, so far.
If it stays that high you’ll never see the final results in print.

It works for me - multiple times! ;o)

Try opening a new window/tab or using IE instead of FF or vice-verse.

Of course, you are correct. But, you don’t think anyone in the MSM understands this, do you? To them there are no “innate” rights.

Why is the SC even considering the Second Amendment? The right is inalienable.

If the SC chooses to do so, then let them consider the entire Const.

"The Bill of Rights were all "individual rights" accept this one?"

I've boggled many a liberals mind with that argument: "So, everywhere else in the Bill of Rights when the words "the people" are used, it means the individual, but only in the Second does it mean the Army or the National Guard and not the individual?"
