I thought the time was right to start up a live thread for results and comments about tonight, so here we are!

If Thompson places in the top 3, he has a STRONG possibility of becoming President.  Because the LeftMedia Socialist nutcases hate him, they would NOT give him any pre-caucus airtime.  But if he places in the top 3, going forward they won't have any choice but to let his message get out.  And if that happens, you can be sure that Romney and Huckabee will have a hard time up against his verifiable conservative credentials.

Exactly! How many of us have ever paid attention as to what happened in the Iowa Cauci? The answer is not many. Other than remembering the "Dean" scream in '04. And, that gave us a good chuckle.

Yup..Just spot reading back through all the replies, most posters had no idea how Iowa did its thing up until tonight (myself included).
The "election" season started so darn early this time around I swear were seeing latent fatigue from '06 action.

If anything, I think tonight is a feeling out process for the states ahead; I don't believe by a long shot that we have even begun to feel election fervor.

Anyone who votes against Romney for being a Mormon is an embarrassment to the Republican party because you may have handed the election to a quasi Muslim. I predicted that there would many shallow thinkers who would rather see a Muslim in the Whitehouse than a Mormon, any you are proving me right.

what you are looking at is the straw poll results...In June we will go to the state convention and pick the delegates to go to the National convention. None of what happens tonight is binding.

Ed Rollins displays NO Christian virtues. He holds the top position in holy-huckabees campaign. One would think the good pastor has a better judge of character.

Oh he knew what kind of guy he was hiring. It's a Clinton tactic: sic a political attack dog on enemies while the candidate appears to stay "above it all", occasionally swatting the dog with a newspaper if he gets, uh, out of line.

Huckabee's "I'm not airing this negative ad I made yesterday" stunt is an example of this.

I hate to admit it, but a very weak Thompson showing in Iowa means he probably cannot recover. He has barely beaten McCain & Paul - both of whom will beat him in NH. McCain & Romney will beat him in Michigan & Nevada...by the time SC rolls around, it will be too late for Thompson to make up ground.

I cannot recall when I was so disappointed with my fellow republican voters. Even Bob Dole was a better candidate than Huckabee or McCain.

Add in the bitterness covering republicans right now, and we’re in big trouble for the 2008 election.

So - anyone have any good candidates for 2012?
