For those who have doubts that Ron Paul would be an acceptable commander in chief, your doubts would have been absolutely confirmed if you listened to him this morning on WHO 1040 talk radio in Des Moines, Iowa.
He came on Jan Mickelson's show at about 8:50am, Pacific Time. I was the second caller.
After complimenting him on his commitment to the Constitution, I asked a question about foreign policy. If any of you can pull the podcast, you can hear the conversation.
The question went something like this: Dr. Paul, if a shipment of nuclear tipped missiles was heading from North Korea to Iran, knowing the position of Ahmadinejad and the mullahs, would you stop that ship or sink it?
His answer was stunning. He very quickly answwered, "No, why would we do that?" After that question back to me, he commented that there was almost zero chance of that happening. He said that if he knew they planned to use them against us, he would take action. But they know they would be obliterated.
I wanted to challenge him further over Iran's stated goal of destroying Israel, but I was apparently cut off by the host and couldn't do it.
There you go, folks. Dr. Paul is an unthinkable commander in chief.

No, EEE is definitely not an idiot. We simply disagree. Ron Paul as Constitutionalist is the best out there. It is a shame that he comes with baggage that, in my opinion, is isolationist.

BTW, this is a 3-4 day running average and the older day(s) were about 7%, so his latest tracking is well into the double digits.
Many here have tried your "direct" approach at enlightenment but failed.
Many more have tried a more subtle approach, also without success. I have started labeling the syndrome it as serial idiocy.
Replying to these Ron Paul supporters will have absolutely no effect on their delusional state.

One of the reasons Russia wanted missiles in Cuba was because we had missiles on their border. (Turkey, I think.) Part of the deal to get the missiles out of Cuba was that we took our missiles out of Turkey.
I've seen this Ron Paul before! Got a Clinton elected due to his ego over the Republican last time he showed his face.

I’ll throw my 2 cents in on this one.
I don’t know the extent of the official campaign operation in Iowa, but he has, at least, 40 meet up groups in Iowa with about 1500 members. Since some of those members belong to more than one meet up group, the number of unique members is probably in the 700-1,200 range. You can be sure that almost all of the meet up groups are active in getting out the vote for Ron Paul tonight.
There are also a lot of out of state volunteers working in Iowa. While they are not as coordinated as Romney’s campaign, they are part of the mix.
We will know in about 7 hours just how effective his get out the vote effort has been.
I don't have to be into work until late tomorrow, so I think I'll pick up a bottle of Jack Daniels, get wasted and taunt Paul haters if this happens. I suspect Thompson has a good chance of beating Paul tonight, though. If this were a week ago I'd have said otherwise. I do think that Huckabee is going to have an epic downfall this evening, though, which I really don't want to see because the thought of Mitt winning pisses me off.
He pushed diplomacy and applied pressure on China to get its puppet in line. They are now disabling their nukes. No force required. Something Ron Paul would approve of, I think.

Only a journalist would call them "insurgents". Terrorists or proxy soldiers would be more appropriate. Anyway, Bush applied an increase in troops and used a strategy of maintaining areas under control (sometimes known as "the surge"). It has been quite effective...significant reductions in injuries, economy returning to normal, etc.
This mindset is *precisely* why I left the Libertarian party.
In 1996, by voting night it was absolutley clear that Dole was toast. I waited until late in the day to vote. Because it didn’t matter at that point, I was tempted to vote for Harry Browne. But I didn’t. Foreign policy is why Larry Elder no longer considers himself a Libertarian.
