National Security: After getting little done all year because it was too busy playing politics, Congress' year-end priority is to make fighting the global war on terror as difficult as possible. A jihadist couldn't ask for more.
President Bush promises to veto legislation not containing immunity from lawsuits for telecom firms who cooperate with the U.S. government in terrorist surveillance. Apparently spoiling for a fight, the House passed a bill without such immunity. It also legislated to prohibit the CIA from using waterboarding and other tough interrogation methods on suspected terrorists.
Democrats also want to block 70% percent of the intelligence budget from being spent until the House and Senate intelligence committees get briefed on Israel's September airstrike on an apparent nuclear facility in Syria. And they continue to try to tie war funding to a withdrawal of our forces in Iraq.
The pattern is clear: Over and over again, the ever-more disloyal opposition places obstacles in the way of our fighting al-Qaida and other terrorist enemies.

They are completely right, of course. I hope voters are paying attention.
“Next year, the American people will have a momentous decision before them in choosing George W. Bush’s successor. The same enemy will be there, as determined as ever to commit more 9/11-style atrocities.
Whether it’s guns or surveillance or interrogation, Congress this year has shown us all that it would take away the tools necessary to protect Americans â if only it had a president who would sign on.”
And we all know that any of the Dem presidential candidates WOULD sign the bills that would totally disarm us in our fight against terrorism. I guess a lot of people forgot that we were attacked on our own soil by the terrorists — this is not some “esoteric” fight.
When Congress says Social Security will be broke by 2017 and tells the American People they must “save” money to fund individual IRA’s, and then the same Congress enacts all kinds of laws to restrict how much U.S. citizens can save in their IRA’s, I know that Congress is my sworn enemy.
Jokes aside, congress has become our own Al Qaida
:)
Congress is the bigger threat. They are in our midst daily, part of the scenery and for the most part swept (laughed) under the rug.
The enemy is out in the open most of the time and we tend to take this matter a little more seriously.
......until the House and Senate intelligence committees get briefed on Israel’s September airstrike .......
Oh the shame of it. They don’t have the need to know. It is not American action.
Congress
Vader, you are correct! they are all traitors! They are the enemy within, our own brothers and sisters are schemeing behind our backs. DESPICABLE HUMANS!
I guess I’m not the only one that has made this comparison. LOL!
You are right they should be run out of Washington on rails and then escorted to the border at bayonet point, never to return or face hanging.
BOTH!
Is there really a difference?

That clear enough? The boogeymen we've been 'taught' to fear are the least of our concerns. And that applies to Republican and Democrat alike.
I waould also ask or is the Media our enemy too??? We know it was in Vietnam and has pretty much been so ever since.
Even NVA Gen Giap says so.
General Giap was a brilliant, highly respected leader of the North Vietnam military. The following quote is from his memoirs currently found in the Vietnam war memorial in Hanoi: &am p;nb sp; &n bsp;
“What we still don’t understand is why you Americans stopped the bombing of Hanoi. You had us on the ropes. If you had pressed us a little harder, just for another day or two, we were ready to surrender! It was the same at the battles of TET. You defeated us! We knew it, and we thought you knew it. But we were elated to notice your media w as de finitely helping us. They were causing more disruption in America than we could in the battlefields. We were ready to surrender. You had won!”
General Giap has published his memoirs and confirmed what most Americans knew. The Vietnam war was not lost in Vietnam — it was lost at home. The exact same slippery slope, sponsored by the US media, is currently well underway. It exposes the enormous power of a biased media to cut out the heart and will of the American public.
A truism worthy of note: Do not fear the enemy, for they can take only your life. Fear the media far more, for they will destroy your honor.
It seems the same thing is happening with the battle for Iraq.
Liberals who live in their “Land of Ought to Be” just can’t comprehend danger until the bombs are actually dropping down on their heads. They don’t see it (thanks to the good job our military is doing) so it’s not reality to them.
My bet goes to the 'Rats in Congress.

That explains why the democrats have been saying the war in Iraq is lost.
They mean their allies are losing, not the U.S. military.
Well, we’re of a mind on that.
The problem is, you wind up looking like Hugo Chavez whether justified or not.

LOL :-)
