As I say, the above demographic audit has become something of an annual tradition in this space. But here's something new that took hold in the year 2007: A radical antihumanism, long present just below the surface, bobbed up and became explicit and respectable. In Britain, the Optimum Population Trust said that "the biggest cause of climate change is climate changers in other words, human beings," and professor John Guillebaud called on Britons to voluntarily reduce the number of children they have.
"Every person who is born," says Toni Vernelli, "produces more rubbish, more pollution, more greenhouse gases and adds to the problem of overpopulation." We are the pollution, and sterilization is the solution. The best way to bequeath a more sustainable environment to our children is not to have any.
What's the "pro-choice" line? "Every child should be wanted"? Not anymore. The progressive position has subtly evolved: Every child should be unwanted.
By the way, if you're looking for some last-minute stocking stuffers, Oxford University Press has published a book by professor David Benatar of the University of Cape Town called "Better Never to Have Been: The Harm of Coming into Existence." The author "argues for the 'anti-natal' view that it is always wrong to have children
. Anti-natalism also implies that it would be better if humanity became extinct." As does Alan Weisman's "The World Without Us" which Publishers Weekly hails as "an enthralling tour of the world
anticipating, often poetically, what a planet without us would be like." It's a good thing it "anticipates" it poetically, because, once it happens, there will be no more poetry.

A child is a vote for the continuation of your values and your culture. Apparently, many in the West dont believe those things are worth saving. Theyve made their choice and theres little to be done about it.
Im not so sure American conservatives are going to repopulate the West by themselves. Liberals often come from conservative families (think baby boomers) and today about 80% of Christian children abandon their religion, at least for a time (http://mondaymorninginsight.com/index.php/site/comments/88_of_evangelical_children_leave_the_church_after_high_school/). While this doesnt mean they will adopt liberal values, there does seem to be a correlation between church membership and large families.
So, whats the solution? I dont know, but if the trend continues, Western cultures days are numbered.
Moreover, I wouldnt worry too much about the Muslims dancing on our graves. Their culture is all about force. The Koran teaches Muslims to solve their problems through violence crush the infidel, dismember and kill criminals, punish the victims to prevent rape, etc. I give them fifty years tops before they blow the Shiite out of each other.
After that? I suppose God can try again with the rats and roaches.
Perhaps the folks who feel this way can ensure that they have a ‘negative carbon footprint’: make high tech funeral arrangments so their body will ‘sequester’ the carbon presently contained, and commit suicide.
Of course, I would rather see them repent of their folly, and embrace all of the Divine commandments from “be fruitful and multiply” to “be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect”, but in some cases I suspect the heart is too hardened for that.
Low liberal birthrates, the result of high numbers of liberal homosexuals combined with what James Taranto terms, “the Roe effect”, high liberal abortion rates, will sharply diminish the number of MoveOn Democrats in the decades ahead. We can only hope that conservatives will have large families so we can keep control of the country.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
I agree with it all
Very true. Let them “extinct” themselves and leave the breeders alone
$5K fine per live born baby? Promotion of anal penetration for boys (and girls)?
Our church families just keep having more babies. It’s great! One family had 12 children, who have reproduced a good many times themselves. I love it! The more the merrier. Wish my kids would have more.
Gawd Noooooo !!!!!1
No you misunderstood. I agree with what YOU said in your reply to me.
And a Merry Christmas to you!
And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours too. ;-)
