A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Thanks so much Aqua!
I love the graphic you posted of the Holy Mother in your last Christmas thread. It’s beautiful. I almost took it. ;)

Wow, you have pecan trees? Can you eat them also? I planted some berrying shrubs this past season. I saw the birds took them early in the season. I love seeing the squirrels run away with nuts and bury them too. I wonder if they can recall where they put them and if they ever do back to get them.

I’m Glad the Little Hummer has his Momma to Watch Over him and Guard him from the Predator Bird, (((((’Dita)))))! Occasionally I See Hawks Around Here, and it’s an Unwelcome Sight. :(

I have this graphic from you. I think it has already been a couple of years. Wow, time flies. :)
Whoa, that’s a lot of snow. I need to check what we are in store for. :) It is early. I hope that means a nice warm spring. ;)

I Wish there was 2 Kinds of Squirrels where I Live; that would be Neat, if Only they would get Along with Each Other!

We have three.
Timid red squirrels, but they tend to spook easily, the agile but territorial grey, and the black furred squirrels.
The last ones mentioned are almost suicidal in their aggression, leaping at large dogs in their attempts to drive off ‘the invader’.
I learned to avoid their nesting spots, and look up while running whenever I hear ‘Chree chree chreeee!’
Immediately after the call, stuff will rain down on you.
Even the greys won’t tangle with ‘em.
But they will cavort around feeders, just as the others do.
Just, one doesn’t want to be the center of a squirrel attack.

Oh, yes, and this Kind of Pecans is Very Tasty, but Most are Tiny, and with the Hardest Shells Known to Man. After a Week or So of Shelling the Biggest Ones I can Find, my Fingers Get Little Cuts on them, which then Sting whenever I Do the Dishes, Lol, so my Admiration for them Begins to Wain Pretty Quickly. They are Really More of a Special Treat that is to be Enjoyed Between Finger-Healings!
I have Seen Squirrels Retrieve the Pecans they Bury, but they May Forget where they Place Some of them.

I Wanted to Go and Hunt Up a Pic of a Black Squirrel on the 'Net after your Description of them, and they are Very Cute! Lol, they Look So Innocent; I'd have Never Known they are Aggressive by their Appearance. They would Probably Try to Run Off my Rather Docile Squirrels!

GeeBee, what a beautiful opening and display on this thread. You did a great job. I am just now getting to review. I did listen to some of your music earlier but was on my way out. Great selection of music! Thanks for our hard work!

Thank you for your Compliment on my Squirrel Pic, (((((LUV W)))))! The One in the Pic is my Very Favorite of All the Squirrels Here, because she Comes Near the House Everyday, and is Very Tame.

Warm Fuzzy Wednesday Poetry
Kindergarten
Mother likes to teach us by doing things that are fun and unique
Which is why Iris and I are enjoying this little game of "Hide And Seek"
It's a surprisingly pleasant way to pass a few hours of the Day
Though the object is much more than cleverly keeping Mother away
As we Kittens gambol far beyond the Garden and towards a stream
Crossing over broken ground through plants and tall flowers that gleam
Iris and I smile and wonder if we have succeeded as a team
As our ears perk up to listen for distant sounds along our trail
Naively confident in the idea that my sister and I haven't failed
Yet Mother seems to know where we're going from where we've went
When it dawned on me that Mother has been carefully following our scents!
Which doesn't make our game silly, but an intriguing place to start
Learning to know about each other's scents and habits so we'll never be apart

Thank you, Mr. Mayor, for today’s devotional and Bible reading. I recently saw “We Are Marshall” on PPV. and it was certain a sad movie.....but showed what hard work could do to overcome such a tremendous tragedy. My youngest son was 3 years old when that tragedy occured.

Beautiful picture, Meg!
I suffered from all the outside work yesterday. Knew I would!
This is a great thread. I did enjoy some music and I did take a long nap.....had to because of my shoulder. My blower is truly the lightest weight you can get. I bought it this year but that constant movement does it! Stuff happens! LOL!!
