Fred Thompson ....campaigning at a NH gun store..... told reporters Giuliani too often turns to his time as NYC mayor to explain his support for stronger gun restrictions. "....he was at bill-signing ceremonies with NY Sen Chuck Schumer and President Clinton and others for gun-control legislation over the years. Of course, he's not as outspoken about it any more."

>>>>Because the voters of ny/nyc have brought a nanny/Police-State on themselves,
If that was true, why all the voter fraud?
WHOA there Doc. That was way out of line. The companies in the N.E. are very fast paced. That has nothing to do nor does it call for you to attack WTC for it. I know exactly what he is talking about. God forbid you needed something from another office outside the TriState. It would take a week for a response.
How does that justify your nastiness?
Because that is what one can expect from northeastern-corridor LIBERALS, whether they have a "D", or an "R" after their names.
That has nothing to do with the voting citizens of the nonpolitical fields now does it?
“Please explain how Rudy is better qualified than any other GOP presidential candidate (except Cut-and-Run Ron) to deal with the threat of Islamofacism.
[Sound of crickets chirping...]”
Simon and Garfunkel cranking up “Sound of Silence.”
headed by an east coast liberal who worked in the Bobby Kennedy campaign, voted for George McGovern, who as mayor publicly distanced himself from Ronald Reagan, who vocally supported and proudly endorsed a far-left, liberal, big-government, socialist, democrat like Mario Cuomo over the Republican candidate for governor (largely because the Republican wanted to cut state income taxes),,,,
who first ran for mayor on the LIBERAL PARTY ticket,,,,
and who proudly positioned himself as a gun-grabbing, pro-amnesty, pro-litigation, pro-abortion, gay-rights crusading, condescending, arrogant, and narcissistic LIBERAL, New York pit bull lawyer,,,,
who believes in sanctuary cities, global warming, encouraging more illegal aliens to come here by telling them they are not really illegal, and whose idea of fiscal restraint is using our tax money for Federally-funded abortions,,,,
who has been a public defender of Bill Clinton on more than one occasion,,,
who was SO LIBERAL that he wasnt even invited to the Republican Convention in 96--after refusing to endorse (until the last minute) the Republican candidate opposing Clinton, while saying that (paraphrasing here) "he did not want to waste his time",,,,
and a cousin-marrying, Clinton-apologist--whose personal life is an absolute TRAIN WRECK (and whose blatant, public cheating on his wife almost makes Bill Clinton look like a decent family man and loving husband--if that is even possible).
So Rudy can 'get things done'???? If you want to abandon and sacrifice traditional, core, bedrock, conservative principles and values--a LIBERAL BULLY like Rudy is the RIGHT MAN AT THE RIGHT TIME!!!! I don't want ANY of those things done. Period.
Good question. Actually the vast majority of the counties in NY are red, it's primarily the NYC area that feeds at the trough of liberalism and by their sheer number of politicians are capable of forcing a tremendous governing influence on the rest of us. It should be noted though that even NYC has decent conservatives who fought right along side everyone else in opposing Spitzer's latest schemes like licenses for illegals.
bump
My oldest just came back to NYC from four years in San Diego (two in grad school - two in business). He hates the cold and misses the SoCal weather but he was going crazy trying to adjust to the lack of energy and drive. He bitches about the weather but he's delighted to be back where things get done.
Maybe there's a reason why you never hear anyone say, "An Alabama minute" or "Mississippi, if you can make it there you can make it anywhere". Heck, I know guys who have retired from business in NYC and moved south to open a business. Get it? They can run a business in Georgia in their sleep.
The truth hurts, doesn't it?
see 89.
One thing I don't get is why aren't the primary candidates showing ads of Giuliani's support for Cuomo in 1994? What more proof do people need that he is a democrat in everything but name?
lol....there are some churches including one rather large one that think precisely that
And they should ask WHY he supported Cuomo, and why Giuliani was 'personna non grata' at the Republican Convention in '96!!
P.S. I guess the '11th Commandment' doesn't apply to Rudy.
In primaries anything goes when it comes to exposing liberals like Rudy. I think even RR would agree with that. :)
Dude -- Rudy Giuliani is a lisping, effeminate limp-wristed lawyer from New York City. He probably doesn't even know how to make a fist.
I will say this with all due respect. I resent and dislike any city, state, county etc. in this country that deprive me of my 2nd amendment rights. I can not go the NYC and live as a free woman. If I was to move there I would have to not take my lawfully owned firearms and ammo. I woud be forced to either by a felon or a FREE woman. That is why I dislike and will never again set foot in NYC. Nothing there I can not get somewhere else. I will not give up my property or freedom or my life for stepping foot in NYC. Got IT>
It was a joke. Lighten up. I like Fred a lot. I loved that cigar-chomping hillary retort he did a while back.
No, I wouldn't particularly like Rudy as a CIC but I do think he can beat the beast, as can Thompson.
And that is my main mission- to get the clintons out of the picture for good. They are more a threat to our republic than any RINO.
Aren't they ALL?
“I will have a very hard time voting for Rudy ...”
Then don’t! Vote for Fred Thompson, like me! :)
Then why have so many companies moved out of New York City over the years -- they couldn't handle the "Big Leagues?"
If you go through a list of the Fortune 500 companies you don't find as many of these headquartered in New York City as you used to -- and almost all of them are in banking and financial services (Verizon and Pfizer are two notable exceptions).
