Fred Thompson ....campaigning at a NH gun store..... told reporters Giuliani too often turns to his time as NYC mayor to explain his support for stronger gun restrictions. "....he was at bill-signing ceremonies with NY Sen Chuck Schumer and President Clinton and others for gun-control legislation over the years. Of course, he's not as outspoken about it any more."

Please explain how Rudy is better qualified than any other GOP presidential candidate (except Cut-and-Run Ron) to deal with the threat of Islamofacism.
[Sound of crickets chirping...]
The positioning of Rudy as the mayor of the city of the event, (which was pure happenstance) and his administrative actions thereafter in support of the recovery does not translate into any sort of competence either locally or nationally in dealing with causation. Show me a track record prior to the September 11th attacks that indicates the problem of radical Islam was an issue in any way for hizzoner the Mayor.
Check out his interview with Incurious George Steponallofus on This Week last Sunday and, IMHO, he knocks it out of the park.
And make sure to watch him with on Fox News Sunday this week.
Fred's making the rounds and is the only candidate who actually talks about the issues with specifics, not sound bites.
He marched WITH NAMBLA in the “Gay Pride Parades”. If he actually had ANY character at all, he would have refused to be involved in an event that glamorizes child molesters.
I notice that you badmouth FRed Thompson, a REAL conservative, regularly. Gonna vote for him if he's the nominee? Or will you do what you accuse FRed Thompson of and pick your nose and think about it for a while? [The link is to one of zeebee's earlier insult of Thompson.]
This isn't enough. In a constitutional republic, we must elect citizens who have proven they are men or women of integrity and solid moral values. Personal character is the foundation of each individual. It is the clue to what they will do in any situation. It is based on a clear choice of moral good in all one does.
While I may be able to buy into the "Rudy, the savior of New York," I cannot vote for one who has lived a life so filled with selfishness, hubris and such disregard for those he has vowed to love and protect.
Agree with your FOX observations. I too started with FOX on the big dish. Through these years they have gone the Weather Channel way as Rush calls it “Chick-a-fication” and run to the left. Absolutely amazing!
Even until this week I thought Brit was the last bastion, but with his FRED is dead show, I am done. Might as well tune in the Clintoon News Net at least they ain’t trying to fool us by pretending.
I lived in NYC in the pre-Rudy days. While still a great city, crime was a challenge to a quality of life. Rudy as mayor addressed the root cause of the crime problem criminals. He was aggressive in getting petty criminals off the streets the squigee guys, the subway fare jumpers. These petty criminals committed many more crimes as well. NYC became a really great place to be. Look at Times square.
Rudy understands root cause. It wasnt easy making change in NYC, which is larger than most states and many countries. He is a leader. I met him years ago at a management function in New Orleans. He was the keynote speaker. I was able to spend some time with him, and I know he understands the root cause of the Islamic terrorism.
There are no other choices Fred has never run anything, I dont trust Mitt (he says he never had an argument with his wife. I find that impossible to believe unless he has absolutely no backbone or is a liar) Ron Paul is a whack job and I dont think Huckabee can win.
Rudy understands root cause, is a leader, and can get things done.
IMHO.
So you wouldn't have voted for Reagan because he was divorced and spent the rest of his life living in a state of adultery with Nancy. Even the pope has a confessor.
Until Jesus returns, we will have to settle for lesser men as our leaders. Rudy is a leader.
>>>>Most of us cant stand NYC anyway...
Why?
Yes, he sues gun manufacturerers and actively campaigns for gun control, he marches in gay pride parades that also include NAMBLA members, he actively supports sancturary cites and opend borders, and actively promotes so called abortions rights. Yeah he gets things done and most often they are the WRONG things. Rudy is NOT the only one that can fight the war on terror but he IS the most liberal of the candidates. Only liberals can justify supporting Rudy, conservatives would be complete fools to do so.
And the NAMBLA members he hired to high city offices were.....?
Why?

Because it's easy and requires no thought.
In my opinion it's a wonderful city with a great history but it's nannyism has gotten out of hand. Too many liberal politicians whose only goal in life seems to be figuring out ways they can control the lives of everybody.
he marched with nambla? Can you show me that...
Rudy understood that the root cause of crime is guns and he dedicated everything he had to that single issue and built everything else around that central thrust. He would say it is in integral cog of the entire machine and I wouldn't necessarily dispute that, but his actions in the deliberate contravention of the US Constitution and deliberate undermining thereof makes him totally unfit to lead the nation. He can't win the south and without the south he can't win.
As for Fred not having run anything, if the Presidency were a one man job that operated in a vacuum then I might agree, but the head guy need only make the tough decisions while his many expert advisors will present the facts and offer a variety of possible solutions. The boss also has to have the common sense to cobble together a solution from an assortment of proposals. I think Fred can DO that.
I also think that Huckabee can do that and maybe better than Fred. Unelectable? What if Huckabee kicks Rudy's A$$ in Iowa? What if he then smokes everybody in SC? Everything is fluid right now. All it will take is one or two major wins to provide a breakout opportunity and serious traction which will bring the national recognition and the all important money.
I absolutely agree about the nannyism and liberal politicians. It is ruining all of our states but is currently magnified on the coast states.
One of gay couple Rooty moved in with after dumping his wife
and kids to be with his mistress.
----- Russell Harding, Mayor Rudy's appointee to the New York City Housing Development Corporation went ontrips with gay friends on the taxpayers' dime, emjoyed child poen on city computers, stole the city blind-----received a 5-year prison sentence for child porn; graft, etc. Russel's daddy was the president of the NY Liberal Party that endorsed Rooty as Mayor at Rooty's request.)
----- Giuliani Has Connection With Accused Priest

Republican presidential candidate Rudolph W. Giuliani has close ties to a Catholic priest accused of sexually molesting boys and who also was the lawyer for a now-closed Whitinsville counseling house for troubled priests that has been described as the center of a pedophile sex ring. Monsignor Alan J. Placa, who works for Mr. Giulianis consulting firm, Giuliani Partners, was legal adviser in the 1980s to the House of Affirmation, where priests accused of sexual abuse were sent for psychotherapy and other counseling services. The center closed in 1987 amid a financial scandal.
