At first, the story line went like this: Sen. Hillary Clinton may have committed the ultimate political culinary sin -- not tipping the waitress.
But the story was wrong: NPR has retracted its initial report, a nasty little anecdote about iClnton meeting a working-mom waitress at the Maid-Rite eatery in Iowa over the summer, using her story in a speech -- and then stiffing her on the tip.
Now NPR has confirmed the tip with an editor's note: "Since this story aired, Hillary Clinton's campaign contacted NPR to say that the campaign paid Maid-Rite a bill for $100 for food for the day of Clinton's visit and left $57 in tip money. NPR contacted Maid-Rite manager Brad Crawford, who confirmed that a bill was paid and tip money was left.
"Crawford, who was not in the restaurant at the time, said that he believes a campaign staffer left the money with one of his employees, but "where Hillary was sitting, there was no tip left." Neither Anita Esterday nor the manager on duty that day were available for comment as of noon Thursday.''

It was found by the staff in the west wing of the white house.
Or the Clinton camp is lying,..Harrumpph!
I'm thinking you meant to say "don't" instead of "do"...unless your are Mrs. Clinton.
No, ay efore.
Maid-Rite manager Brad Crawford will get a visit from Chef Gordon Ramsay for a kitchen/restaurant makeover says unnamed sources.
Who in their right mind would expect a tip from Hillary, don’t they understand who she is? If not, they’ll be re-educated.
I’m also surprised anyone would accept money from Hillary. Those Chinese dishwashers worked hard for that money.
Because people who intend to return to places are more sensitive to waitresses spitting in their food, than they are on their clothes.
The tipping mechanism exists to reward good service and attitude by people who are not paid very much, and who rely on tip income..it is because, unlike buying a shirt, dining is supposed to be pleasurable, and the waiter delivers a pleasant experience in order to be better paid.
People who will not tip are quite rare-And probably do not get out much-or shouldn't. It is "Mean" in the original sense of the word.
I paid my way through flight school without handouts!!!!!Oh the horror, poor you...
My folks dont tip - if the server needs more money they should go to their boss not expect the public to pay their wages. He also mentioned the tradition of tipping started around the time of the civil war. Thus, his/her folks lived before the civil war.
Be nice to old people...LOL
Oh, Skydancer btw it is an accepted practice (I don't think it is fair) to pay wait staff way under the minimum wage because their tips bring them over it. The IRS requires that people employed as wait staff claim 8% of their wages for tips.
When you kinda ask to be slammed, sometimes it happened.
We never used to tip down here; of course we didn’t eat out that much either. It was considered a yankee thing to tip.
Turns out the tip was mixed in with the Rose Law Firm billing records, and they only just found it.
That's not what Paula Jones said she saw.
Sounds like you know the rules, so you know the answer to your question. You just don't care for the rules, do you?
BTW, I don't have a pet groomer, and the guy who cuts my hair is a barber. Next month he'll get a "Christmas bonus," as will a couple of the girls who bring me my Murphy's Amber when I'm thirsty, and I'm not even a Christian.

Go back to work as a waitress and learn.

“Look idiot - I paid my way through flight school without handouts!!!!! If I had to live on tips Id find another job .... and I was born with a brass spoon thingie .....”
Schees...Emotional outbreaks along with name calling is not welcome on the flight deck, in real life or on this forum. You have a lot to learn about all three.
As a Vietnam Veteran with 4200 hrs of flight time, if I were giving you a check ride you would flunk before we got off the ground.
Bingo! Another embarrassingly bad Clinton lie. And then she turns around and uses the stiffed waitress’ life story in her speech. Talk about nerve!
And the first stories on Drudge had it:
1) The Clinton party ate on the house and left no tip, and
2) The bill was $157.00 and a tip of $100.00 was left.
I remember back in the mid-90’s Rush talking about Hillary talking about treating even clean-up people (janitors, etc.) like human beings, as though it were even an issue. Hillary even bringing it up said quite a bit about how she sees herself and how she sees others...
