Eight 9-11 Hijackers Were Registered to Vote: Will MSM 'Drive' Story?

The fact has been out there for some time, but never garnered much media attention. Now, in the context of the current debate over the granting of driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, will there be renewed focus on this chilling reality? Could this be the factoid that changes a presidential election? As John Fund wrote in his Wall Street Journal column today and discussed during his "Morning Joe" appearance:
After 9/11, the Justice Department found that eight of the 19 hijackers were registered to vote.

Eight out of nineteen - that's less than 50%.
Step it up, folks - we can do better than that!

There is always another side to the story, and such is the case here:
We should allow terrorists to have drivers licenses so that they will be insured. That way, if they get into an accident with an innocent American along the way to a hijacking, the insurance company will pay out.

Now THAT is a good question? (
(their party affiliation)
I won’t be too terribly surprised if it was “Independent”
but it was probably “D”, and if it was, there is your reason for the MSM NEVER bothering to publicize this fact.

Only 8 were registered to vote because not all of the 19 bothered to get drivers licenses... but those of those who did had 35 licenses between them.
So those 8 registered to vote were most likely registered to vote more than one time each.

They kill 3,000 innocent people. I merely advocate declaring Martial Law and the National Guard along the Mexican border with a shoot-to-kill order and the Admin thinks I’m the problem! Go figure!

The more illegals with licenses, the more potential voters for democrats. Here in NY, Spitzer is just trying to ensure a democrat state for the next 30 years.

The same is happening with governor mike easley
in North Carolina. North Carolina is the number one state
in the nation giving driver licenses to illegals.
btw...easley says it isn't true if you ask him,
and the media in North Carolina ignore
easley's criminality.

I have no problem with states granting a non-citizen Driver’s License to illegal immigrants. But it would have to be visually distinct with “NON-CITIZEN” printed in big, bold letters, and would need text on the back making it clear that the document was to be used for driving purposes only, and not for voting, gaining of additional documentation, or accessing government services as a citizen.
I think this compromise would be acceptable to a broad swath of society. But the Democrats will never go for it, because they are interested in Vote Fraud. That is what this whole business is about for them, nothing more.

What do other countries do about driver’s licenses for long term visitors? Has anyone here gotten a foreign license? What was the process?
