The human race will one day split into two separate species, an attractive, intelligent ruling elite and an underclass of dim-witted, ugly goblin-like creatures, according to a top scientist.
100,000 years into the future, sexual selection could mean that two distinct breeds of human will have developed.
Whatever’s going to happen on this subject is going to happen a lot faster than the author predicts. In one hundred years or less, people will start actively tinkering with the human genome for the benefit of their offspring. Maybe it will start with the rich, maybe it will start with a kind of bio-hacker. Who knows. But it will start, and it will spread, wiki-fashion, through the population. I don’t think there’s going to be 2 distinct groups. More like 2 thousand. Or maybe 2 million.
A couple of centuries from now the earth is going to be littered with an ungodly mess of various kinds of Children of Men.
(Just my prediction.)
“The human race will one day split into two separate species,”
It already has! Me, and then everyone else!
Not possible. The ruling elites (liberals) are not breeding their replacements, but the uglies (the Christians/Jews/Muslims) are.
So I predict ... more Islamofacism.
...which this "top scientist" no doubt views his progeny in.
What? We are like that NOW. Not 100,000 years from now. We are like that today. Just ask any liberal.
Another scientist whose cravings for fame overrode his good sense.
I think that any “splitting up” of the human race could only happen if transportation is stopped. As long as people can move their DNA around freely, a distinct race won’t develop. But isolate people in a geographic area for long enough, then drift may cause some significant differences.
Yeah. They are called liberals.
Teh libidots already think they are the attractive, intelligent ruling elite and the conseratives are the underclass of dim-witted, ugly goblin-like creatures.
But as usual, they have it bassakwards.
To a degree it’s happening. It’s not quite as political as most of us think, but it’s reasonably close.
Those who are really wealthy (and there’s nothing wrong with that) from both sides of the aisle, have quite a bit in common. Their social circles certainly do intertwine like a bad strand of DNA. This particular circle does not only comprise of the wealthy cognitive elitists, blue-blood Republicans, etc.
If you have ever had the “opportunity” to visit someone living in a wealthy gated community, you will really see this.
We have that already. They’re called liberals.
The big question is: to which group will Britney Spears' descendants belong?
I agree. The English have a strange way of looking at technology. (i.e., Dr. Who)
The next 30 years is going to be a whirlwind of technological advancement with the ultimate merging of humanity with technology. After that, I think it's impossible to know what's going to happen. We may not be capable of comprehending it.
Gee, that has already happened here in Massghanistan. Unfortunately, the goblins have seized power.
I agree. I don't know if it's quite as political, but I can really see some trying or hoping to politicize it, especially in socialist circles, nanny state thinking.

I don't see anything wrong with that, per se, the beef I have is with those who do look down their noses at the rest of us. Sure, it's likely to happen between various groups. I mean the kind who fail to see their 'help' staff as people, etc.
Their social circles certainly do intertwine like a bad strand of DNA.
I, too, have seen the really blue bloods and also some very 'hick' folks.
It's funny to read of, or see on Law & Order, lol, a blue blood hobnobbing on the down low with, for example, cheap hookers - how sometimes someone in a particularly elite group will be drawn to the lifestyle of someone in a very different group.
I fear Mordor..(er..Massachusetts) j/k
God Bless..
It already has. Conservatives and the others.
