Rather than have a senator or a congressman respond to President Bush's weekly radio address, they decided to have a child who was helped by the program speak directly to the publicFavorite Dem ploy, utilize someone who cannot possibly be questioned because of their moral superiority.

A blogger on FreeRepublic.com discovered that Frost and his sister, Gemma, attend a private school where tuition costs $20,000 a year. What School is this? How long has he been attending? Is this cost per student or for the two of them?
This needs more documentation.

I had wondered about whether the kids went to school on scholarship. I know some poorer families whose kids attend a pretty exclusive school because they get scholarships.
What I wondered was is the $45,000 a before or after taxes figure. When you’re self employed, there are lots of exemptions you can take. You can basically write off a lot of normal household expenses (if your worship is in your home), car expenses, etc. It would be interesting to know.

Why is the family surprised at the attention they are receiving?
Poster children are supposed to draw attention.

Like many small-business owners, Halsey Frost can't even afford to provide health insurance to himself, Manley said.
It is a conscious, deliberate choice. Perhaps they could unload that commercial property or choose to move to a smaller house in a less affluent neighborhood.

conservative-leaning bloggers I wonder how come we never hear the media use the term, "liberal-leaning?"
I hope the Prez and GOP squash this bill dead! It is really sad timing with all of the illegal immigrants running amuk in our country and the liberals in the country believe they (i-i) have the "RIGHT" to benefits! If this bill passes, guess who will be the biggest recipients? You guessed it!

The fact remains, these are not poor people. Taxpayers, many of whom make less and have fewer opportunities than this family, should not be required to pick up their health bills.

Except for health insurance because, like Dad said, why waste money on something that'll probably never happen and if it does we can get someone else to pay for it.

“...congressional Democrats found a new way...”
Exploiting children to further their Leftist agenda is not a “new way.” Democrats have been using that trick for decades.

RUSH: I had some rudimentary information on this two weeks ago, and it wasn't enough for me to trust going with. But since then, it has been verified, and most of it's been verified by a "Freeper" at Free Republic. Everybody is writing about this now, since the Freeper posted it over the weekend...

Seems like Mr Klien is trying to make the Dem case. He still doesn’t explain the big house or the remodel and commercial property. Sure would like to see those corporate tax reports, not to mention he could write off his health insurance payments as a self insured.
Sorry PravdABDNCBS, you didn’t dig deep enough. Great job icu!

According to Senate Democratic aides, some bloggers have made repeated phone calls to the home of 12-year-old Graeme Frost, demanding information about his family's private life. Evidence?

Real estate records, including mortgages, are PUBLIC information.
And the Frosts own real estate with plenty of equity -- both a private house (at least one), and a commercial property.

You know, if Maryland had a school voucher program those people would be able to afford health care for their children.
Anyway, it seems the Dems want a lot of the poor to pay for the health care of these well-off people.

Even if we were to accept the Democrat-provided figures, should a family making $50K be on public assistance? That is pretty good money. A family making that much should be able to care for themselves, including health insurance.

Mr. Frost, also 26, is known as Halsey. He owns Frostworks, a woodworking and furniture-design studio in Baltimore. His mother, Randy Frost, is a quilt artist. His father is the deputy director of design and construction for the City University of New York in Manhattan. The bridegrooms late grandfather Frederick G. Frost Jr. was an architect responsible for several public buildings in New York, including Martin Luther King High School in Manhattan..
The tidbit in bold is what really makes me wonder....
Manhattan, NY eh? Why do I smell a hillrat?

"But Manley [a spokesman for Reid, D-Nev] say conservative bloggers didn't dig deep enough. It turns out that the Frost children attend Baltimores Park School on near-full scholarships; they pay roughly $500 per child per year in tuition, he said." Can any FReeper detectives verify Harry Reid's lackey's statement?
