President Bush met with his economic team today in the Oval Office. August 2007 marked the 49th consecutive month of job growth since 2003. And that's the longest uninterrupted job growth on record for our country. (Transcript)
The president also took this opportunity to speak about terrorism and to defend US interrogation policy since some people, like Senator Jay Rockefeller (Democrat-W.Va.) and the good folks at the New York Times, apparently have nothing better to do than worry about terrorists rights. (Source)
By the way, according to a recent FOX News poll, 1 in 5 Democrats thinks the world will be better off if America loses the war in Iraq. Not that we question their patriotism or anything.
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates arrived in Peru today and met with leaders and military officials.
And the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen and General David Petraeus met with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Iraq.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
Thank you for the ping and post, Deb :)
ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!
I don't know. That's a good question.
Howdy, LUV :)
Good evening, Jonny! Hope you are having a great evening.
The pictures tonight are great!
Uh ... well, see ... er ... the thing is ... um ... I-I'm going out of town. Yeah, that's it. Going away, far away. Don't know when I'll be back. So Spot will just have to stay with you until I get back.
:)
Thanks—not many pictures tonight. Not that I’m complaining :)
Sometimes quality trumps quantity!
I just thank you for Sanity Island tonight. It gets to be
more needed all the time!
In Britain we only call the little brown ones shrimps everything we call prawns.
Don’t worry about Spot, Jonny. I bought him a whole stack of tiny little hankies with his Initial on it. I’m sure he has enough to wipe up his tears. He’ll be fine. Don’t give it a thought. He’s OK, honest. He doesn’t expect even a passing thought. Have a good trip.
These are the type of prawns which in Britain we traditonally have in our pubs.
We buy them by the pint or half pint in the pub and they are served in a half pint or pint glass jug or metal tankard still in their shells with brown bread and butter or if you prefer French stick.
Here is your toaster - congratulations
Oh, PULEEZE! That looks delicious. But up here in the NE, the big ones are twenty dollars a pound. Enjoy, you lucky duck.
Come on down, kitkat - I bought a boatload!
Thanks for he pics!
I’d like to say something grossly sexual about the twins, but I have too much respect.
Yet, I’ll have to admire Jenna’s shapely legs, over her sister’s, as much as I enjoy Barbara’s facial beauty over her sister’s.
Kinda a toss-up!
You GO, Dana!!
Thanks sj, great work as always.
Pray for W and Our Troops
