Whites, who make up 34.5 percent of New Yorkers, committed only 5.3 percent of violent crimes. These ratios are similar across the country. In Los Angeles, blacks committed 41 percent of all robberies in 2001, according to victims’ descriptions, though they constitute only 11 percent of the city’s population. Robbery victims identified whites, who make up 30 percent of the Los Angeles population, just 4 percent of the time.”

Once again, we need to start putting these scum away. Cops and juries don't take "non-violent" crimes seriously enough. I'd bet $100 no one dusted for prints or otherwise thoroughly investigated the attempted break-in. Impossible to say, but had they pursued that case with vigor and shaken the trees sufficiently, maybe the perps would have laid low (or possibly have been caught) and not attempted another break-in, and the girl would still be alive.
Probably correct. Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of FReepers lately who are itching to find a racial aspect to any crime -- it almost seems like they have a "revenge" motive.

At 12, had my daughter been home alone, she would have access to several firearms, and the skill to use them properly.
It may be a shame to raise kids as warriors, but in a world full of barbarians I see no other choice.

I don’t argue with you based on the law, but I certainly do on the basis of the serious nature of the crime and this kids willing involvement. Fry him. The girl won’t get a second chance. Hell no, that he should get one.
Look like very clean cut Magic Negroes, similar to Osama bin Obama. I’m sure they are merely the victims of an unjust Republican society that has inflicted racial hatred and poverty upon them for centuries. They are obviously NOT responsible for their actions. Rather it us, the cruel conservatives of this world, who have kept these fine young men crushed under the boot heel of a racist America! I say free the Vass 3! Allow them to party with the Jena 6!
Jack, if black crime was primarily black on white, I’d have more sympathy for your arguement. In light of what takes place all the time, I don’t doubt at all that these kids would gun down one of their own under the same circumstances.
I don’t think your comments are unreasonable, I just have to disagree.
This is obviously not a hate crime and probably would not be persecuted as such were the race of the Victim and perps reversed.
This was a robbery gone bad they did not enter to kill a while person they thought they were going into an empty home.
Be careful not to fall into the trap of acting like those race pims Jackson and Sharpton who would be screaming hate crime were the situation reversed..
I think the leaders of minority hate groups keep stirring things up to keep the money flowing in.
Just because I think that illegals create more problems than they are worth, it doesn’t mean I hate all other minorities.
I AM a minority, now, here in California.
Sure, there are still individuals that maintain the old hatreds. But, most of us do not go looking for someone to hate, like in the KKK days.
I don’t know if it was a hate crime. It doesn’t matter. She is still dead. It was just a stupid crime, because those kids haven’t been taught any better than to take what they want, and murder to try and cover it up.
My heart goes out to the families involved, not just the girl’s family. All of these kids need a mother at home, and a father to lead the family.
Seems to be difficult to find these days.

I think I know where you are coming from, and based on that I agree.
I am not seeking revenge on anyone. I’m sorry if you find my posting or comments ugly. I find the situation ugly. I think there is an obvious racial component of much crime today - but it’s the issue we are not allowed to discuss without being called racist.
Again, I’m not suggesting that the killers sought out a girl of a different race to kill, but that stumbling on her I suspect it was far easier to do because of the racial divide that still exists in the USA.

I guess my final take is that I don’t like “hate crime” laws because it is immaterial. Punish the action, not the imputed thougts behind them.
Whether or not they had a racist bone in their bodies, the killers still shot this little girl. In the end, that’s all the crime that we need to make it a tragedy and to describe their punishment.
Hate crime laws divdide us, because it requries the law to get into someone’s brain. And we can’t do that, opinions and views always differ.

I disagree. They could have just ran out. That little girl was no threat to them. They thought so little of that 12 year old girl that they would rather kill her than allow her to possibly ID them. This indicates a pathological level of hate.

We need to reinvigorate the land with Truth. There is an accountability before the Almighty God, and Western Civilization was uncommonly blessed because, for a time, it carried the Banner of Christ. We suffer from national amnesia (or brainwashing), and judge people by their affiliations rather than actions.
You are so right. It was back in the 1960’s that I was in a very racial mixed school. The black kids were told by their parents that the white kids “owed” them and would ask for money from you before you got in line to buy a snack or something. The learning of the ‘shake down” was going on way back then.
That is why the hate is there. You don’t have to do anything to get jumped and beat up. I witnessed such goings on way back then. I know better.
If anything the liberals are to blame for this situation and allowing it to get this bad in the first place. But noooo, they continue to make things worse instead.
