Good question. Ever listen to BET (Black Entertainment Television)? Or watch a Black movie, or a black sitcom? They (meaning the black entertainers) can't put out a comedy show, sitcom or movie without saying something about the "white man, or honky, or the man" as a put-down. It's constant - the mentality out there in the black world is unbelievable - they are constantly acting like the victim. I kid you not - just tune in sometime - you'll see. I suppose someone out there will say I'm racist or prejudiced, but, check it out - I'M not the one who's racist. One can't help but notice it.

I totally agree. Even at school, there’s a knife by my bed, but nicely out of sight =) And having the knife is allowed as long as the blade isn’t begger than ‘the palm of your hand’... I learned this when one of the people from Texas asked our RA about the policy on knives in the dorms. I’m happy they’re allowed.

I am not going to condemn a race of people because a few members of that race are murderers.

I don't know if this was a hate crime or not. Apparently, unlike you, the rest of us were not there. We did not see the crime in action. We did not hear what the perps said to her before they killed her, if they said anything at all (and she's not talking). And we don't know what they were thinking as they killed here. We even don't know what they think of white people in general before they committed this crime, because the rest of us can't read other people's minds.

While some here suspect that racial hate may have played a role, and some suspect not. Unlike you, no one is so absolutely sure in their opinion.

Believe what you wish, but years of crime stats don’t lie. But according to you:

Because the robbers who broke into her house were black, the probability that they’d resort to murder was - according to years of statistics - about eight times greater than if they’d been white.

Only a fool would pretend otherwise. In moments of candor, few black folks make such pretensions.

If you realized that three guys were following you down the street, would you be more worried if they were black or white? Jesse Jackson gave his answer several years ago: he’d be relieved if the were white.

I think it is meant as a sarcasm. If a white injures or kills a black (or any member of a protected racial group) it is automatically labeled a hate crime by the MSM and the political elites. However, when blacks or members of another racial group other than white injures or kills a white it is NEVER a hate crime. That is why the hate crime laws are so insidious.

And your long list of serial killers is just plain silly. If you added up all the victims of serial killers in US history, do you think they’d be equal to a couple of months’ totals of non-serial murderers?

I live outside of Chicago, and I can guarantee that if a racial minority broke into our home and attacked my wife and I shot the SOB I would be charged with a hate crime on top of murder or attempted murder; but if the perp were a white guy I’d be similarly charged but minus the hate crime.

Seems to me that if a bunch of Blacks get together and decide to "go rob whitey", that is racially motivated and therefore a hate crime as well as break enter and theft. From that data there's no denying that black American society is in serious, serious trouble.

I live in a city that is majority black and has a very high crime rate. However, when walking down the street, I keep my head up and look out for people that may want to hurt my family or I.

If a family member of mine is raped or murdered, I am not going to blame his race, but instead the offender. It would hurt just as much and I would be just as livid no matter the offender’s race.

Now, you FBI statistics may be correct but one event, not matter how tragic, can be attributed to the race of the offender or the victim.

I really do not see that fact that the victim is white and the alleged offenders are black makes it any more tragic.

So, what is you solution?

All I’ve done is cite statistics. I don’t think I’ve attributed anything to the race of an offender or victim, or made any statement about what scenario would be more tragic.

I have concluded that the statistics indicate that, when in proximity to either black or white individuals, one is seven or eight times more likely to be a victim of crime perpetrated by a black offender than a white offender. There’s no other logical conclusion, and the total violent crimes and percentages committed by different races has been consistent over many years.

I don’t have any solutions except education and economic opportunity (which is there for the taking), and an end to the victim culture which some feel justifies their criminal behavior, but I think anyone would be wise to be more cautious when in black neighborhoods, or around black strangers than if around white. Not racism, just probability. And, as I said, Jesse Jackson agrees.
