How the hell did they get houses financed? How are they processing papers with tax assessors? How can they set up accounts with with utility companies?

Because political correctness has ruled certain pointed but necessary questions out of bounds.

the anti immmigrant crowd doesn't care what happens to the economy. The reduced demand for goods and services will put a lot of citizens out of work or out of business.

It is the anti-illegal immigrationcrowd that cares about the economy and the country. First, get the terminology right. Second, look at the big picture. Illegal aliens typically come here with a 6th grade education and are unskilled low-wage earners. They take much, much more in social services and free handouts than they ever return. And stats show that their children don't do much better. They cost each and every one of us tax-dollars and in return, we get increased crime, increased dumbing-down of our education, and a loss of our own culture. While having to support these illegals and their offspring because they earn so little money. They are an overal net drain on our economy.

Excellent post. As the mother of a 16 year old, the opportunities for him to earn some money aren’t there like they were when I was his age. And to work in a store around here, he has to speak spanish!

That’s what John and Ken call Clown Houses and they are very prevalent in Orange and Santa Ana, California. The town counsels there changed the law to remove limitations on the number of people who can live in a single family residence. Results - instant (D) voters.

A California grape grower has pulled up all his grapes and replanted them with grapes that can be picked by machine.

He will employ 1/10th the labor.

Interesting. Do you have a link for that?

..no one would have to do anything mean, no one would have to do anything harsh--a simple removal of any economic magnets would create a condition for self-deportation

Prop 187 in CA (which won overwhelmingly) would have done this--if the liberal courts would have stayed out of it...

Dems love this program, because they don’t want to build The Fence.

Which puts them standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Bush, who also doesn't want to build the fence.

Thay tuk r jehbs!

Yes, the illegals squeezed out the teenagers from jobs where they could learn dilligence, timeliness, working well with and for others,

and we have a lot of entitlement minded young people because of it.

Why did the banks loan them the money?

Because the ACLU would sue them if they didn’t.

I forgot where I read that. I do remember the vinyard mananger saying he had employed forty people and would now employ 4.

An on line article that goes further in depth on the mechanization is at http://researchfrontiers.uark.edu/628.htm
That article says 50 to 70% labor savings. It also says that merlot grapes produced a better wine when compared to hand cultivation.
