My sons often serve Mass with a boy in his teens who has Down’s Syndrome. He has four older brothers, all in the military, and often brings G.I. Joe figures to Mass when he’s not scheduled to serve, because they remind him of his brothers.
It’s inspiring to watch him at the altar, because, if he’s not busy handing things to Father, he just gazes at the Crucifix with the most joyful and loving expression. It reminds me that every one of us is broken, “disabled” in some way - it’s just that some can pretend they aren’t because our problems don’t necessarily show on the outside.
Choice Mafia is good, but I think "Death Eaters" was even more appropriate. (Don't remember who suggested it ...)
Hmmmm... Good one but I still prefer Choice Mafia simply because they really are death mobsters. Hey, that’s another good one!

Now that's a winner! I think it's important to emphasize "death," because that's what they're really after, not "choice."
I've always suspected that this was God's way of seeing that the Down Syndrome babies didn't outlive their parents and thus be a burden on someone else.

Yes, but usually the step before that is total anarchy and chaos so that the people demand and then embrace a strong leader to end the turmoil and restore “order.” That, then, is the State with a Great Leader whose portrait is everywhere and is revered as a god.
Heh. Go to war. Kiss your wife and your children and take them to church on Sunday. Drop a goodly amount in the collection plate and then later in the week support a conservative candidate with time or money. It’s a lot less than other generations have had to do . . .
I agree. The greatest threat is the enemy within - Democrats, the media, unions of all sorts, teachers and professors, 527 organizations funded from abroad, ect.

God didn’t plan on the welfare state, essentially all severely retarded kids are paid for by the rest of us from day one. Parental involvement is usually limited to lawsuits against the local school system demanding that their precious child be better kept out of their hair on the few holidays that babysitting is not provided.
