Terrorist Propaganda Picture of the Week.
An elderly Iraqi woman shows two bullets which she says hit her house following an early coalition forces raid in the predominantly Shiite Baghdad suburb of Sadr City.

While poking around the
Yahoo! News Photos site, I did a search on the AFP's
obviously unbiased photographer,
Wissam al-Okaili, and found this photo among his portfolio. Get a load of the accompanying caption:
An Iraqi girl fills a pot with water extracted from the Diyala River nearby a garbage dump northeast of Baghdad, June 2007. As Iraqis queue forlornly for food and water, or swelter in homes and hospitals wihout electricity, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's coalition government is collapsing around him.(AFP/File/Wissam Al-Okaili)
Perhaps Wissam is working with Code Pink and the other insurgents in Iraq?

I wonder if this reporter has been in Haditha, or Hamdania.....

If water is so precious, how come she’s pouring that crystal clear prized fluid in to the dirt?

I also didn’t know that the river had a hose attached to it (see the hose end in her right hand, with that clear river water flowing out?). Cute little kid, looks clean, well-fed and well-dressed... well, except for the color of her dress.
To: kristinn
If you look closely, you’ll see that there’s a hose in her hand, and the water is just running into and out of the bowl.

Yep, and she’s clean, healthy looking—and the bowl looks brand new. It’s almost as if the photographer brought the girl out and posed her for an ‘art’ shot he could sell AFP with a propaganda story line.

AFP wouldn't fall for that old staged-photo-trick, would they?
I think they just did.

What......? She's been hired by Algore too?
I'm going to miss the Polar Bears when they're gone from the North Pole. They'll relocate in New Jersey of course and I don't want to go there to see 'em.

Residents displayed what they said was damage from U.S. airstrikes.
Correction appended Jan. 17, 2006:
A caption Saturday on NYTimes.com with a photograph of damage from a U.S. airstrike in Pakistan misidentified an item in the photograph. Agence France-Presse, the agency that provided the photograph, later changed the caption to report that the item appears to be an unexploded artillery shell, not a piece of a missile from Friday's attack.
