Dutch bishop urges faithful to call God Allah
Radio Netherlands ^ | August 14 2007

Breda - The Dutch Roman Catholic bishop Tiny Muskens is urging the faithful of all religions to call God Allah in order to foster mutual understanding. The bishop of the city of Breda says God does not mind what he is called and points out that Allah is the Arabic word for God. The bishop, who is retiring in a few weeks, added he did not expect his ideas to find immediate acceptance. He expects it could take 100 or 200 years. Bishop Muskens has previously defied the Vatican by calling for the acceptance of married priests and the use of condoms against aids. He has also said that those who are poor may steal bread.

Idiot. How do these people get ordained to begin with? Why don’t all religions call Jesus “the Son of God” in order to foster mutual understanding?

Maybe Muslims should call Jesus, God. Then the good Bishop (with all due respect) wouldn’t have to make such statements.

This apostate bishop is intent on rocking the boat. He's already called for acceptance of contraceptives and married priests.

What a worthless charlatan. Why the hell hasn’t he been defrocked and excommunicated?

Given that Abraham’s offspring by his second wife/concubine resulted in the whole wretched Arab world, I’d say that it’s not a good idea, whatever you want to call it.

“The Dutch Roman Catholic bishop Tiny Muskens is urging the faithful of all religions to call God Allah in order to foster mutual understanding.”

Maybe Muskens should give all his wealth to the muslims, then slit his own throat.

He can sooo kiss my a$$, and go straight to hell.

Resist the Islamic empire. Enough of this “diversity training”.

The muslim led nations of the world must show a greater acceptance for those of other faiths in their societies and allow muslims to freely convert AWAY from Islam to another faith without punishment.

Don’t show tolerance for a supremacist ideology. And don’t worship their god as your own.

He also was a member of the ‘Stop the occupation’ movement that targetted Israel, along with a lot of leftists losers and other jew-haters (like Gretta Duisenburg, it’s chair(wo)man).

IIRC, God's son, obviously with some Fatherly guidance, put the matter to rest regarding multiple wives.

Also, IIRC, Abraham had one wife Sarah until a low point in their lives saw him wed Hagar. That polyugamous event has led to much strife.

Well bishop Tiny Muskens, does the Koran look like the word of God to you???

If not, do suppose there just might be a problem with calling God Allah?

.................

I can’t say more without saying something bad...

Incomprehensible. But then again, all this was predicted by the Lady at Garabandal in 1963 - many bishops and priests will lead the faithful astray.

Uh - nope, thanks just the same. The god of Islam is not the God of the Universe (you supercilious scandihoovian preacher!) In the immortal words of Bugs Bunny, “Wadda maroon!”.

Watch for the "bishop" to declare his conversion to the Unitarian/Universalist "church" within a week of his retirement.

Well, Tiny, I’ll not call God because I’m not an Arab, I’m not a Muslim, and the word “Allah” suggests the very kind of vindictive, illiberal, anthropomorphic God you liberals are supposed to reject. Moreover, the word “Allah” is associated with centruries of oppression of non-Muslims and is today used as a rallying cry for terrorists and mass murderers. I find the word offensive.

Hello boys and girls. Yoday’s word is dhimmi — can you say dhimmi? I knew you could.

How about excommunication

I suspect this Bishop is one of the reasons the Catholic Church in the Netherlands has been diminished, as it has in much of Europe. It is one of Pope Benedict’s stated missions, to try to re-Evangelize Europe. After years of men like Muskens, we can see why.
