Rep. Rangel Rips Giuliani, Calling Him A 'Bum'

U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel isn't holding back in his criticism of presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani.

Friday the Democrat from New York's 15th District criticized New York's former mayor, telling Gabe Pressman that Giuliani shouldn't get New Yorkers' support just because he's from the area.

Rangel said, "He was never one of our boys. He was a bum. He was a terrible man. It's the post 9/11, when we couldn't find the president, and he was fearlessly walking up and down the streets. And that's the guy that America has known. But now the firemen are coming out, the emergency medical people are coming out, his kids are coming out. You know, people are going to find out who is this guy, and it's not going to be kind."

This would be like Ben Johnson calling Barry Bonds a juiced-up cheater.

Imagine, if you will, a Republican Congressman referring to a Democrat candidate as a “bum”. What would the media fallout be?

Aren’t we glad Elizabeth Edwards set the tone for Democrats to raise the level of political discourse in the country? Can’t you just feel the love?

Imagine the MSM fallout if a Republican said this about a Demagogue....... Imagine the MSM fallout if a Republican referred to a real bum as a bum...... not allowed to refer to a ‘homeless’ person that way, but it’s fine for Demagogues to refer to opposing candidates with such a word.

I thought we’re not allowed to call people bums anymore. I thought the operative PC word is “homeless American.”

Of course, Rangel has his own lexicon. He’s the one who once said that “’Tax cuts’ is a code-word for racism.”

I have heard the word “Bum” come out of the mouths of New Yorkers all my life. Always wondered what New Yorkers consider a “bum”. What’s the NY definition of a “Bum”?

Personally don’t like the idea of Giuliani as the Republican Candidate for the Presidency, so I guess Rangell can call him a “Bum”, and I don’t care.

Rangel certainly knows what a bum is, being one himself.

Giuliani must have paid Rangel to say that.

Charlie, I can’t thank you enough for your comments,
it just might reinvigorate my base and maybe pull in
a few new supporters too!

Have a great weekend, enjoy the flowers!

PS - Fax me a copy of what you want me to call you in
return, something that will pump up your numbers, ok?

Rangel pines for the days of David Dinkins when he and his ilk were first in line to feed from the public teet.

I prefer the term "urban outdoorsmen" (ala Neal Boortz)...........

Rangel is a man who doesn’t even like himself. He wishes he could have accomplished half of what Rudy has. As for calling rudy a “BUM”, that just shows what a classless POS Rangel is!

Remember Adam Clayton Powell? He was the first nationally prominent black politician who was famous for his corruption, greasy hair, and loud, stupid, mouth. Charlie is his direct successor, and holds the same seat.
