The Fox construction expert pointed out that the steel had been painted green, which apparently meant that it had been painted some time ago and not repainted since.
He said he didn’t like bridges to be painted because that can cover up cracks.

Neither was Charles Bishop/Bishra's suicide flight into a bank despite what his suicide note said. The authorities have lied to us in the past and denied any terrorist intent even when they knew otherwise.I'm trying to figure out what makes a person WANT to think everything is a terror plot and will not believe otherwise.
On the contrary, I don't think they have ever LIED or tried to cover up a terrorist event. What they have done is made an important distinction between a delusional suicidal loner wannabe and an actionable conspiracy by an organized group with an identity and a political mission. That's not a lie. It makes a difference. It makes a difference in how a government should respond to it.
That's all.

These vehicles are stranded on a section with collapses in front of them and behind them.

Most (concrete, H-beam, and shell pile) hammers are diesel...(Delmag, Bucyrus Erie) although sheet pile (Z pile) hammers can be pneumatic or hydraulic vibratory, which also serve a dual purpose as pile extractors.
Looks like the center span broke loose and caused the approach on one side to rock back on its piers.
The bridge looks to be a self-supporting pin and ring suspension. It's designed to flex vertically.

If one was a superstitious person. They might see something creepy here. MinneaPOLIS, MN and GalliPOLIS, Ohio. and then they might notice that both highways over the rivers were (ROUTE 35). Twilight Zone music kiddo. Another thing I noticed. The Silver Bridge fell in 1967 and the MN bridge was built in 1967. I wonder if anyone up there saw the Mothman before the bridge fell.

Being obvious is the whole point. Like for example including the following phrase in your anthrax letter.
'We have this anthrax. You cannot stop us.'
To: Poser
Please tell me that the FNC’s Gretchen Carlson didn’t just suggest “global warming” as a possible cause.
To: HairOfTheDog
That isn't what they said! Sheesh! They said they haven't seen any evidence that it is... but that they are monitoring it. Thank you. I was about to flame out on that topic myself. Sheesh.
Listening to Savage on the radio was particularly aggravating. He wants to know where the "federal response" is and why the feds aren't on scene yet to handle this. I kid you not. Fertheluvva..

Kind of scary that if one span goes, the whole bridge goes. I wonder how many more of our bridges are like that?

And then there are the explosives that only sensitive dog noses can detect. That is before they are used. After they detonate it is a very different matter. The combustion products of any nitrogen based explosive are immediately detectable, the force of the explosion disperses them widely, and the original chemical composition is only a secondary effect.

nexus
The only other person in the entire world who uses the word "Nexus" regularly in conversation is 'Ted Williams, former DC Homicide Detective'....and judging by the rest of his fractured lingo, that's about the only Americanese word he's got mastered.

Hi, Nan. I was a junior at PPHS when the Silver Bridge fell. I’ve been posting about how emotional this disaster is to me. I’m sure all of PP who are about my age are feeling heartache for these people.

With all due respect, this isn't the time or place for this. Please *pleads*
All of our thoughts, prayers and energy should be focused on this tragedy - not snarking at each other.
Thank you so much for your consideration.
