What's with Laura Ingraham? This morning Peggy Noonan wrote an op ed which included the following criticism of President Bush:
"Every major domestic initiative of his second term has been ill thought through and ended in failure. His Iraq leadership has failed. His standing is lower than any previous president's since polling began.",
Laura loved Noonan's op ed. Go gal, kick him when he's down.
Ingraham is taking herself too seriously. Yesterday she was aghast over security chief Chertoff's "gut feeling." I don't know why. I would appreciate any source regarding security even Chertoff's gut. She also found Chertoff less than handsome. What a cheap shot.
Ingraham lost me when she went over to the dark side on the Foley scandal. She thought Hastert should have resigned for not protecting male pages from gay congressmen.
Bill Kristol, yesterday on her show, suggested that now is the time that talk show hosts should support the president. His comment went right over her head.
“So where has the Bush been the last three years?”
I don’t know, and the incredible part of all of this is that GWb would push for Amnesty when he knows that the Dhimis were going to make a run at forcing a pull out in Iraq.
So anger your supporters then find your back to the political wall and need thier support?
That is mind boggling to me at least.
Secure Our Borders Now!
I love Laura Ingraham.
She calls ‘em like she sees ‘em.
Rush Limbaugh.
Re-read my post. The first part.
We need to go after them in Syria, and in Iran, and even in Pakistan if that's what it takes. Be more offensive rather than just waiting for them to turn up in Baghdad and Fallujah and Mosul. Heck, sometimes I think the only solution is to kill every living thing from the East Bank of the Jordan River all the way to the foothills of the Hindu Kush.
As for Laura..... The President has failed miserably domestically in this second term: his first initiative was Social Security reform; that died on the vine. We did get Roberts and Alito on the Court, but only after his base rose up in rejection of Meiers. Then he got behind the immigration reform push, enactment of which would have been an absolute disaster for the nation. The only thing I can really support him on and give him credit for is the stick-to-it-iveness in Iraq. And the surge is producing results!
The President realizes what a mess it would be if we leave. But he needs to fight the PR war at home a lot more effectively, because the MSM and the Dems are painting a picture of Iraq as an utter failure and exercise in futility with no end or resolution in sight.
Ingraham's work helped keep that underqualified ninny off the court too....thank God for that.
To #46, who cares what happens to those people after we leave, I don’t. I care about my southern border which is now open and I care about my senior citizens who could use help with their problems.
I certainly hope pablo H was not suspended for what he posted on this thread. His opinion posted on this thread is shared by many conservatives including many who have posted similarly on FR.
Well, she did date Bob Toricelli at one time.
Right on ilgipper. I was a HUGE Bush supporter but his total lack of ability to deal with his political enemies has cost him the support of millions, including me. BUT, there is nothing wrong in Iraq that couldn’t be fixed with a complete change in ROE. (That’s simplifying it I know). We’re getting a taste of that now but why did it take 4 years to get here? How in the world do we make a deal in wartime that we won’t let our soldiers in various neighborhoods? Or that we can’t shoot back??? That’s where Bush lost me and many others. Give me a real man in the White House...we sorely need one.
“What happens to the Iraqi people when we leave?”
That’s their problem.
What? Noonan is right, and so is Laura. Bush is his own worst enemy.
I’d love to imagine Bush adopting ANY style of speaking.
AC, you got it right.
Nicely put.
LOL... Funny how that works.
I'll stick with Laura. I wish talk radio had a hundred more just like her!!!
It would make him look like a fool, as well as sound like one. Maybe that appeals to you, though.
HUH?!
It’s a lot like Vietnam:
invasion from ideological extremists (muslims), traitors within the body politic both here and there, ideological war, terrorism, heroes shackled by Geneva conventions in which one side abides by the rules, terrorists supported by neighboring like minded state (Iran and Saudis now - Soviet Union and China then)
