As former leaders of ex-gay ministries, we apologize to those individuals and families who believed our message that there is something inherently wrong with being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. Some who heard our message were compelled to try to change an integral part of themselves, bringing harm to themselves and their families. Although we acted in good faith, we have since witnessed the isolation, shame, fear, and loss of faith that this message creates. We apologize for our part in the message of broken truth we spoke on behalf of Exodus and other organizations.

I have never seen any evidence that being gay or straight is a choice. If I did it would make it a lot easier for me to argue against all this "gay rights" crap.

Many people have reported near miraculous deliverances from the presence of the desire, but a more common experience is a slow relearning. Both are valid. Gay is a crutch.

It is interesting how anyone can see the evidence of anatomy and physiology and conclude that a person "is" whatever contrary thing his own warped mind desires. Thinking a thing doesn't make it so. And you do no one any favors by helping them deny reality.

I’ve always thought that being gay was like being an alcoholic.
You might not be able to ever rid yourself of the inclination, but you can resolve to never take another drink. If you’re gay, you might always have that inclination, but you can live a chaste life.
That you can't see the difference between REPENTING actions and ignoring physical urges (which are not the same as engaging in homosexual acts) says all that needs to be said about this ridiculous "ex-gay" foolishness.
Exactly--aren't gays always telling us there's nothing different about their status? So how can you "unbecome" something that is supposedly a mere misunderstanding between straights and gays, which don't exist...

homosexual is a description of behaviours and activities, not of a state of being.
It is like saying someone is a “shirt wearer”. It is silly. People where shirts or they don’t. Wearing shirts is not a state of being.
Sexual arousal is a response to stimuli both suggested and initiated for that matter. Stroke a penis enough and it will ejaculate. Stimulate the female genitalia correctly and it will initiate an orgasmic wave in the body of a women.
There is no “orientation”. There may be preferences about who one is rolling around with but there is no orientation... except innies and outies.

Actually, it is the state of being arousable by the same sex and not the opposite sex. It’s not a preference, it’s a response.
Not magic, but perhaps the working of God in someone’s heart. What’s the issue with that? If God can raise Jesus from the dead, what’s the big deal about His changing the way someone thinks?
