The survey shows that more than one-third of Republican voters won't consider him for president, which severely limits his ability to capture the nomination. Should he win the nod for the general election, the poll makes it appear he could have difficulty winning because he would lose such a substantial part of the Republican base.
Translation: It is IMPOSSIBLE for Roody to win the general election if he is the nominee.
Pro-Life Ping
Stop Rudy Ping
Rudy the abortionist going down in flames bump!!
This is the same polling outfit that said the Republican Party is strongly pro-gay (after being funded by Log Cabin)
Not making any judgments, just that polls paid for by groups are not necessarily worth much of anything.
Let me guess, you joined FR this week to push Roody.
Nope. I wouldn’t vote for Rudy at all (for other reasons)
Just pointing out that the research firm was the same that did a study which was clearly biased.
This is the firm: http://www.fabmac.com/staff.html
And their clients include the US Chamber of Commerce (who was a primary driving force behind the amnesty debacle)
I’m all for good data, but to be honest, a lot of the stuff these polling firms turn out is tailored to fit the goals of the folks who hire them. Just a friendly advisory to take all such data with a grain of salt.
Fair enough?
Clarification: The firm did ANOTHER study for a different group which was clearly biased.
Just what many FReepers have been posting for quite some time. Not hard to figure out, unless you're a Rockefeller Republican pushing Rooty Toot. The base of the GOP remains a majority of pro-life conservatives and that is bad news for liberals like Giuliani.
Here are other polling companies that reached the same conclusions:

I’m pro-life and will never vote for a pro-abortion candidate, no matter who they are.
Ah, yes, but there are some people that are already looking forward to blaming the malcontent pro-lifers for ot selling out with a Rudy loss. Even though we’ve arned them it will happen. What they are really unhappy isn’t a Republican losing, but their liberal agenda losing.
Yep, other than the fact that most of them hate the Clintons, they would be much happier as 'Rats.
Im pro-life and will never vote for a pro-abortion candidate, no matter who they are.

Ditto ..... Yes, it most certainly is my LITMUS TEST!
.
When looking at why members of the party are Republicans, the abortion issue plays a strong role.
Some 7 percent of Republicans say they are members of the GOP specifically because of its pro-life stance on abortion.
But another 26 percent cite the party's conservative views, 22 percent say they have similar beliefs as the party, 13 percent cite moral or religious issues, and 19 percent said they were raised Republican or favor candidates of the party.
While not directly related to abortion, pro-life views play a role in each of the categories.
When asked what issue best defines the Republican Party, abortion came in third with 8 percent saying it primarily separates the GOP from the Democratic Party. Another 11 percent cited family values or moral issues, which can include abortion.
Prehaps, but the poll result itself is like reporting that bears poop in the woods. We already knew a lot of Republicans are pro-life. What is that news?
The SILT Republicans will have to decide they are no longer playing by the rules, take their ball, go home and start a third party.
If a single issue determines a party's candidate choice, then the RINO Republican contingent has nothing to lose by standing their ground, supporting their candidates and seeing what happens. No more fear and trembling before the SILTs. I have had enough! I think others have as well, but only an election or two will tell.
I have no idea what you mean, pro-life is simply ONE part of the conservative platform, but it is an essential one.
The SILT Republicans will have to decide they are no longer playing by the rules, take their ball, go home and start a third party.
Really? What is the name of this third party? Who is the nominee? Surely you aren't referring to Rooty Toot's friend Bloomberg.

Well, I've got to hand it to you and the other Rooty Rooter FRiberals, you've tried your damnedest to make sure that the GOP is just as liberal as the 'Rats. But hey, if you've "had enough" then maybe it's time you came out of the closet that you were never really in. You and your ilk are the ENEMY of conservatives and your insidious nature has damaged the GOP more than the 'Rats have -- I'm glad you're finally out in the open exposed for what you really are.
